I've known this for quite some time now, and I just didn't know if it was still under NDA or not, but - EVGA will be releasing an X58 motherboard that will *hopefully* release at the launch of Nehalem. I've talked to a few people at EVGA about this, and they are very hush hush about timeframes but they did say there is an EVGA X58 platform in the works.
Absolute confirmation can be found in NVIDIA's latest press release: http://www.nvidia.com/object/io_1224586792565.html “EVGA is continuing its tradition of bringing true enthusiast platforms to the market following the success with NVIDIA nForce-based SLI motherboards supporting Intel CPUs,” said Joe Darwin, Director of Technical Marketing at EVGA. “By licensing NVIDIA SLI technology, the EVGA X58 motherboard will deliver the ultimate 2-way and 3-way SLI platform to, once again, meet the enthusiast’s demand.” Hardware Akutell - EVGA is Working on X58 Mainboard (Translated) With that said, don't get your eyes set on the ASUS P6T or Gigabyte EX58 offerings because, as stated from my sources, "they will suck compared to this monster!" In addition, here is a blog entry written by Theo Valich from Wordpress describing the situation: Quote:
* Supports Intel Core i7 Processors * Intel X58/ICH10R Chipset * EVGA VDroop Control * 100% Solid State Capacitors * 6 DIMM triple-channel DDR3 * Enthusiast layout supporting 2-way, 3-way SLI and CrossFireX * 10 SATA II 3.0GB/s ports (1 e-SATA) * EVGA E-LEET Turning Utility ![]() *PROTOTYPE BOARD* ![]() P.S. I'd also like to note that this will be EVGA's first Intel chipset board.

k, this is quite awesome, but why the hell is there a sata port directly above the top pci-e slot?
![]() I do really like the clear cmos on the back-panel. I'm mostly just excited to see EVGA still doing motherboards since I've been using 'em since '06 (680i -> 780i) when I got into pc hardware. I wish they would use better nb coolers though. At least just have them match typical case airflow (horizontal/front-back, not vertical).

kick in the nuts to who? EVGA will still make a killing off of it by people pairing it with ati cards, cuz that just means they'll have hold of market share from ati and nvidia users.

what I mean is..
EVGA:exclusive Nvidia video card and chip set motherboard maker makes an intel x58 motherboard so ppl can run their evga nvidia cards in SLI. Nvidia fanboi - "Sweet now I can run SLI with my new EVGA 280gtx and awsome i7core" ATI fanboi - "Muahahah look here Nvidia fanboi i have the same mobo as you but Im running 2 4870x2 in CF muahahah tremble at my super awsomeness epenis" thats what i mean kinda like one of buddies once put an old corvette engine inside an old nissan 300z |

yeah, I get what you're saying, but I still think it's a good move for them to gain more market-share in the motherboard segment
I mean, if people are going ati over nvidia anyways, then without this they'll just be selling cards that people don't want as much. With this, they have something even ati users will want.

Wow, just as I'm working on a "will be, maybe" article, there's already a picture of the EVGA board.
