Scythe Releases Kaze Master Ace Series Fan Controllers

The Japanese cooling specialist Scythe Co., Ltd. unveils the Kaze Master Ace. This fan controller is nothing else but the premium version of the popular and award-winning fan controller Kaze Master.

For the production of this product, only noble materials have been used. The brushed aluminum front accentuates the blue illuminated VFD display in an optimal way. By the material of the front panel, the Kaze Master Ace fits in every high-quality aluminum case perfectly.

Hardware enthusiasts have the choice: The Kaze Master Ace comes in two versions, one for the 5.25 "and one for 3.5" bay. The larger version allows the monitoring of four temperature sensors while controlling four fans, the smaller version offers perfect control of two fans and two temperature sensors.

The Kaze Master Ace has acoustic and visual security features, which alerts the user on fan failure or too high temperatures. With one of the temperature sensors exceeds the value of 75 ° C (165 F) or a failure of the temperature sensors occors, there is an acoustic warning issued. Additionally, the VFD display notifies the user by a blinking of the affected value. Using a jumper on the back of the Kaze Master Ace, the audible warning can be disabled completely.

The Kaze Master Ace has lots of other practical features: The temperature values can be shown both in ° C as well as in ° F, the fans can be controlled independently from 12 V to 3.7 V control - a complete turning off of the Fan is also possible. The user has the choice between high performance / high fan speed and ultra-silent operation of his system.

The "small" 3.5" version of the Kaze Master Ace is for an MSRP of 31.50 € (excl. VAT) / US$ 35.80 (excl. Tax) commercially available, the 5.25" version for 38.50 € (excl. VAT) / US$ 44.00 (excl. Tax) is now commercially available.

Very nice looking, but for $44 I can have a full featured display with card reader.

Or for a couple more bucks you can have this thing (much nicer looking IMO):

I guess my point is that while this product is nice looking, it does not warrant $44 to me. Maybe at $25-$30 bucks I'd look into it.

i thought that the ACE version could handle sanace fans, it could have something like 2 or 3 Amperes, non just one. the controller is still good, anyways. but i like the sunbeam extreme better.
