ASUS Introduces the VENTO TA-F Foldable Chassis

The ASUS VENTO TA-F Series chassis incorporates space-saving design, user-friendliness and maximized airflow system catered for daily computing. By designing a foldable chassis, ASUS has made the TA-F Series easy to carry and transport, providing both experienced users and beginners of the DIY scene with a tools-free design for quick and easy installation. Furthermore, the TA-F Series chassis offers two options for users to choose from, with the TA-F11 in sophisticated black and the TA-F21 in stylish silver.




So Easy – Ultra Portability and Space Saving Design
One of the unique features of the TA-F Series is its foldable design. With a fully folded dimension of 434 x 87 x 434 mm, vendors and dealers can potentially save storage and transportation costs by more than 30% with its space-saving design. This also allows DIY enthusiasts to carry the chassis back home or to the office without having to contend with the conventional bulk of a normal chassis. Once the user arrives back home or at the office, the TA-F Series can be expanded quickly to use and also be kept away by simply folding it flat.

So Quick – User Friendly Design
The tour de force of the TA-F Series foldable chassis lies in its user-friendly design. Conveniently spaced USB ports located in front of the chassis allows users to connect their devices without interfering with each other. Inside, users can find safe folded edges to prevent injury during installation. The TA-F Series chassis calls for a tools-free set-up, featuring screw-less ODD, FDD, HDD holders providing users with easy installation for all hardware drives, with screw eyelet indicators directing users for effortless motherboard orientation. Moreover, the addition of a 5.25" rack that is convertible into a 3.5" version can be used to install card readers and FDDs (Floppy Disk Drives), providing users with greater expandability options.
The TA-F also features a unique sliding door, which doubles both as an exquisite design centerpiece and also provides extra protection for hardware drives.

So Efficient – Maximized Airflow
The TA-F Series supports a pair of front and rear 12cm large fans to maximize airflow, with the front fan drawing fresh air into the chassis, while the heat generated by the system is expelled immediately via the rear fan—providing efficient airflow and cooler temperatures. Venting outlets located at the bottom of the chassis draw cool air to enhance the cooling effect around the HDD area. Moreover, the two side venting areas provide cool air to efficiently lower the CPU and video cards' temperature. It's a nice idea, but how practical is this? It's a good case to ship, though, for sure.

Shipping and packaging costs reduced....hmm thats pretty good if its passed on to the consumer. I do like the idea of a foldable chassis but how durable is it?

ah yes.... this will be great for my Folding@home setup.

other than that, i see this case just rattling constantly after you have it set up and get the fans and cd-roms goin....

it's kinda cool that it folds up.... but, where are you gooing to put all the guts when you want to fold it? into another case? maybe a paper bag? either way you still have a computer to haul around.....

it's a good way for asus to save on shipping costs... and maybe that will save us about 5 bucks... not really worth it...

I dont think this will be successful because it has - no customer value -

Shipping and warehousing costs are a little cheaper, but shipping weight remains the same, and the user now has to "IKEA BUILD" a flatpack. Awful.

I think I would like it more if it had a quick removable motherboard tray and quick removable 5.25 / 3.5 drive cage. Same for the PSU. Just pull it apart and fold.

Still, no real need for it IMO,...

I think asus must be aiming to save money themselves but the fact that the case is foldable makes very little difference to the end user. I mean look at it from their point of view they could probably ship 5x more cases for the same money. Another thing is that I have recently had to take apart a case for painting and it is quite easy to flat pack any case if you drill the right spots you can take it apart pretty easily and replace them with mobo screws.

Didn't think about that side of it..

But ya, its pretty useless beyond a few very minor parts.. Good to know someone is thinking though.
