Glacialtech UFO Release Grade CPU Cooler Pictured
Glacialtech, one of Intel's stock-cooler suppliers, has taken a step into the branded high-end cooling segment with its UFO CPU cooler. Expreview took a few snaps of the cooler, which shows a large fin array suspended on four heatpipes, on which two 38 CFM, 92 mm fans blow air downward. The two fans sandwich the aluminum fins, and are covered by sporty black and yellow shrouds. The combined noise of the fans is rated at 28 dBA (at max. speed of 2000 rpm). The cooler supports all current CPU sockets, and is expected to release soon.

blowing air out of the case is the only way i would take a cooler i cant believe its not that noisy

That thing is huge! Maybe I'm just being my pessimistic self with this one, but I can't help but think it won't be very good.

It doesnt look that big. Nothing bigger than the core contact freezer imo.
Also seeing as how it only has one set of heatpipes on one side, it shouldnt have too many compatibility issues.

You know what, I could just eat a cheese burger. I'm going to look for reviews, I want to know how this performs. I must admit, once all the plastic is stripped away it doesn't look that big.

I have to give them credit for a cool design. It would be nice if it came in other colors than yellow.
As for size ... who cares as long as it is not too heavy and fits around all the other components. As for performance, I'll wait for the reviews. The downward blowing coolers never seem to be as effective as the cross blowing ones.

Sure the cooler is big, but its not as big as the Gemini and not as tall as the Sunbeam Core contact.
The performance, well wont be that good honestly considering theres only four heatpipes (why couldnt they do four U shaped heatpipes instead of four L shaped? like on the Thermaltake Big Typhoon), and to make matters worse those seem to be 6mm heatpipes. The choice of two fans is smart, becuase it just cools better compared to a single fan (duh) espcecially with the packed fins (then again, other competing coolers have packed fins as well...). Overall, looks like one of those coolers which would fit into the mid-range bracket.

C'mon people, that cooler is not big, it's just covered in excess plastic and shown on a tiny board
Have you ever seen a Scythe Orochi? Or a Cooler Master GeminII? Those are big coolers.Anyways, I hate coolers that blow onto the board. It makes much more sense to me to have airflow go straight from front to back. Plus this thing just looks ugly
