Whats your budget? How much money does each of those components cost? How much money do you have left after buying those components? Is this machine for gaming? surfing the internet? How long does this system have to last? Where are you buying it from, online/local shop? Are you building it yourself? What is your current specification? Generally speaking a 480w should work fine with a 4850 however I would recommend buying a dedicated PSU with atleast 25 amps 12v regardless of wattage. If this is a gaming system I'd recommend buying 4 GBs of ram and perhaps add another 4 GBs at a later date if your motherboard supports 8 GBs. |

bad bad bad PSU, the PSU is the most important part of your system, a low quality PSU can kill all your hardware in one second. go for a good one, i suggest all corsair's, bequiet darkpower pro, seasonic, antec signature
check www.jonnyguru.com for good PSU reviews

I agree with Darren and Odin. Find a case without a PSU and then get a better quality PSU.
Where are you buying the items from?

There is a case around egg that comes with a earthwatts 500 which is a very good PSU and plus u get a discount because u don't have u buy it seperately. I'll try to find it for u.

CPU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103211 * case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811147068 * or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119118 mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138112 * or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131330 mem: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227124 * or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231098 GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102770 * or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102803 hdd http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136074 * or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152098 then PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703015 * or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341012 Then you may want to rethink the build a little bit more, first off. Where do you live??? If in US then the above should apply to you. Give or take you save a few bucks with a combo on the GPU, or you can opt for 4830 or if your broke get a 4670. which saves 50 bucks to place into a decent PSU. when priced up came out to about 480usd. Those are the ones with the asterisks I used for pricing. Went cheapo on the case but if you opt for a lower card you can invest the extra cash in other areas. or if you need to go nvidia route get a 9800GT, or 9600GT or 9800GSO, the biggest money hog is the card. |
