System Specs

amd 6000+ query!!!!!!

just fitted it.no hassles at all
temps idle at about 29c.overloads about 39c
fan spins at 2711rpm.which seems quite high to me
so its a bit noisey.at least its keeping it cool

all my games run alot smoother.even gta4

my vista rating with my old 4200+ processor o/c to 2.6ghz
rated at 5.3
now the 6000+ rated only up to 5.4
thought it would at least go up to 5.8

can i get more out this processor???

The amd 6000 maxes out at about 3.2-3.3 when over clocked. Just go in and bump your FSB up alittle and you will be there!!

If the fan is the stock fan then most likely. My AMD stock fan ran ~2600 rpm

I did the exact same move from a 4200 to 6000 and the difference was light and day even though the rating did not go up on vista, it will be noticed in games. The reason it is lower than you expected is because when newer cpu's come out older one's get a lower rating.

A cooler at a low price range, and is not noisy would definitely be the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 cooler.
As for the PSU, yeah Corsair makes great units. The Corsair TX750w would be a good unit (that's if prices are the same in the UK as they are here). Or if you want to go cheaper, look into the Corsair VX550w.

For a little less on the price the Antec Earthwatts 430W is a good choice too.

Sorry about not posting links but I am unsure about UK retailers. At least you have a general idea.
