Mass effect

I just finished this game..
for the 3rd time..lol.
I bought it and.. man..
It has been tons of fun.
There are a lot of extras to the game, but the main storyline is where you get to see most of the eye candy.

Visiting other planets with multiple moons sometimes is nice too though.

But the cgi and the story for this game are just excellent.

I was very impressed.
I thought the main story lacked length though..
seemed a bit short to me.
but if you want to drag it out you can visit planets all over the place.
I just had to say.
If you never tried this game and are looking for a good deal.
it's dropped in price recently to the 30-40 dollar mark down from 50.
but it's a game I never knew about and am very happy I found before it became subpar by standards.
just an all around great game..

well.. back to left for dead. ..
nah it's fun.. but I can't see how much it's going to compare to mass effect..
it's like going from driving a ferrari, to driving a volkswagen.
a fun VW..
but still ain't no ferrari.. XD

Yeah Mass Effect was great, a bit shallow in gameplay (the side missions were all relatively similar in nature and look) but extremely deep in story and overall experience. It's a trilogy, so there's lots of room for some more interesting side quests to be put in later. I have a feeling Bioware was a tad rushed w/ this one.

Heh, it's an EA product. They have a release ASAP and patch later mentality.

Get it on Steam for $39.99. that way you don't have to worry about the limited number of times you can install the game before you run out of liscenses.

I did like it but I prefer to play all 3rd person games with a 360 controller *raises flame shield* I prefer these games played on my TV. This game had no support for the controller and I quickly lost interest in it.

How does the DRM work on Mass Effect?

Can you only activate it three times or has there been a patch to fix this issue?

I'm not sure..
I just had to reformat so there went all of my saves..
that sucked..

mass effect 2 should be out in like a year.
mass effect was boring for the side quests.
but for the main story line it was incredible..

I was completely absorbed by this game and not many games get me like that.
it totally earned it's 9.5..
and only a 9.5 because the main story was kind of short and the side quests were boring and repetitive.
but even with the boring side quests.. looking up at another planet from the surface of one is just awe inspiring.

you could of made your own controller support for it..
just get pinnacle profiler.. and there you go..
pinnacle profiler has saved me in so many games it has paid for it's self a million times over..
if there is one thing i ever downloaded that was worth it's money, it's pinnacle profiler.
and it's only like 15 bucks..

I played mass effect on the pc with a ps3 controller flawlessly.

Are the controls not optimised very well for PC? Is it possible to play with the mouse & keyboard?

Very possible, very good I thought. An xbox controller would have probably been a bit better (as I think for myself is the case in almost all situations except for fps and games with a of macros), but I had no problems at all with the mouse and keyboard, the game doesn't really require any kind of fast movements or smooth turns (so as to require an analog stick) so it works just fine.

I think the only problem I encountered was how you can't change which shoulder you look over so going around right corners, you are quite exposed. The controls were good overall though unlike some other games with a severe case of consolitis *cough* Dreamfall: The Longest Journey *cough*.

It uses the Unreal 3 engine so if you played any other games based on it, that's what you should expect.
