I don't see how its obsolete although I guess since its asrock, from my experience they're motherboards tend to break alot.

ASrock sucks! When was the last time they made anything worth spending more than a tenner on? They got some balls calling one of their motherboards "supercomputer"....

It probably still works though except if you were to try oc, it would be a supernova.

I guess a very cheap i5 Asrock board would make more sense than this i7 CF board.

Actualy now I think about it this board would be similar in design to asus' boards because asrock is a subsidary. So asus can use this board for subpar components and sell it at a budget price point.

Asrock are still using pci for graphic connectors, why do you think there are 3 on the board already tri sli pci style.

Well to be perfectly honest they aren't ecs and they don't have the best reputation either. This is their high end board and it is probably upto spec with any other asus board these days, except sold at a budget.

Actually ASROCK is a decent brand. They are reliable, but not too great of overclockers from my experience.

maybe it was just your PSU? sometime cheap ones with unstable rails wont put enough juice out to keep boards happy for oc'ing

I know and I was explaing the booing It seems that negative impressions come from people who have posted something negative about it. For example I didn't get a phenom because I heard so much negativity about it because the majority of people come on these forums to post about technical problems they have with it or it isn't as fast as what they thought it would be so it gives off a negative impression while if everyone who was satisfied with their phenom came on and made threads about how much an improvement it had been over their last cpu it would create a positive image of it. So what I'm basically saying is all this negativity is because we have seen people experienced problems or we have ourselves and this adds to a bad image of the item. I hope this makes sense

I was running a 450 watt with an 8500gt. Couln't have been too bad.

If this board can at least net a 3.8 ghz OC i'd buy it.

and in contrast I've had three and they all died. All of them because of overclocking which is not covered by the warrenty but it does make me want to avoid them if I plan on overclocking. Despite that though they worked fine and well spec'd for the price I paid.
