I think some peopel misunderstood what I meant when I say sorry. All the "early sorry" does is ease the tension of the argument and allow for an actual conversation about what happens which usually leads to both sides realizing it was pointless.

I just went out to the bar. La de da, ladies and talking, and we
go back to her place. We watch Evil Dead (winning ) and then
we're getting cozy. BLAM! The door flies open.

End of the story I'm running (for once with my pants on) out her
window while she holds the door closed from her boyfriend the
best she can. Out to my car and I'm GONE.

I just got home. One of my windows was busted and it looked
like he tried to slash a tire but failed. Dents in my drivers side
rear door that look like a foot. Just called my lawyer. Good thing
I know where they live. Police reports tomorrow!
