Good news


If it comes in at a pricepoint closer to their 7100 and 7150 based boards than their higher models it will be a welcome addition. There's no requirement in my mind to pay $150 to get a mini-ITX board that has a decent IGP when the traces are no different for the cheap ones in some cases.

I mean the IGP chipsets from NVidia for intel CPUs, if you look at their chart w/ the supported features, the AMD (8200/8300) support Hybrid power, yet the Intel (9300/9400) doesn't. I would love to see it support Hybrid power since this is ITX and sparkle has a low profile 9800GT out. It would make a really nice super SSF pc.

Hasn't Hybrid SLI been nuked? I heard rumours that they wouldn't be bringing out new cards that supported it? Hence no GTX260 etc support.

Although the SLI part is a waste of time, the Hybrid Power bit is amazing. It literally turns off the graphics card when not in use, the only downer is the thirsty Nvidia chipset requirement.

Some high end cards can drink 100w at IDLE! Seems crazy to be doing that whilst writing a forum post! :-P


Edit: Oh and the software makes you choose which mode you want, if you leave it in power mode for 4 mins on the desktop it will go into powersave mode so no problem but you will have to manually select power mode before launching a game. Lets hope that gets fixed cos it sucks a bit.
