Palit Releases Custom GeForce GTX 285 Cards With 1 GB and 2 GB Memory
Palit Microsystems, leading graphics card manufacturer, announces the first own design GeForce GTX285 1 GB and 2 GB. Armed with NVIDIA PhysX and NVIDIA CUDA technology, the GeForce GTX 285 series are ready to enable a total new class of physical gaming interaction.
Palit GTX 285 2 GB is the first and the only one graphics card available in the market. The Palit GeForce GTX 285 1 GB and 2 GB feature a core speed of 648 MHz and 2.5 GHz on its GDDR3 memory with a 512-bit interface. It supports the latest NVIDIA PhysX technology providing real-time physics simulations in leading edge PC and console games. With up to 50% more performance than prior generation GPUs, GeForce GTX 285’s GPUs tear through complex DirectX 10 environments and cinematic effects at blazing frame rates in extreme HD resolution. ![]() Palit innovative dual fan cooling system for the GTX 285 series comes with two PWM fans and four heat-pipes to provide high performance and trustworthy cooling solution. Conceived for two GPUs, the two PWM fans are able to provide sufficient air flow to cool GPU on the graphics quietly. The PWM fan created for both fans can adjust the fan speed depending on the GPU’s temperature. Palit’s GeForce GTX285 also supports NVIDIA CUDA technology, unlocking the power of the GPU’s processing cores to accelerate the most demanding system tasks (such as video transcoding) to deliver up to 20x the performance over traditional CPUs. im all up for double frame buffer over reference anyday, some ask why, i ask why not.
keeping in mind generally the price difference is negligible. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ... wait... GTA IV isn't a challenge for the GTX260 and doesn't need framebuffer... I think the idea is something like Mass Effect, Crysis, or Left 4 Dead.

![]() Anyways, 2GB is good for a GPU that is fast enough to actually do a high-res, like the 285. . However, the game needs it most. The new F.E.A.R 2 has almost no different between the 512MB 4870 and the 1GB 4870, just a small example(perhaps also an exception).Would be cool to have 4Ghz cpu speed, 2GB vram, and 6 or 8GB RAM, lol. 2Gb 285GTX is a great idea, and i cant see why anyone would prefer the 1Gb version in any other brand for the little price difference there will be.
The reason GTA 4 might suck on most pc's is due to the poor porting from the game devs etc etc. The ps3 is probably 1/10th of most of your accumilated hardware power yet manages to play GTA 4 with less issue. This card wont help you improve your GTA4 experience by much. |
