Braid Coming to Steam
Valve today announced an agreement to distribute Braid, the innovative title named AIAS Causal Game of the Year, via Steam, a leading platform for the delivery and management of PC games.
Created by Jonathan Blow, Braid is a multi-award winning title that blends platform and puzzle game play with time manipulation. The game features a rich story and plays out across seven unique worlds, each its own time-based game mechanic. The Steam version of Braid will also leverage Steamworks for integration of Achievements and Steam Community features. "Braid is arguably the strongest example of what can be accomplished by an independent game designer," said Jason Holtman, director of business development at Valve. "From GDC to DICE, the title has deservedly collected numerous accolades and, along with World of Goo, Audiosurf and many others, is redefining the way people think about 'Independent Games.'" Available for $14.99 (12.99 EUR, 9.99 Pounds Sterling), Braid is due for launch via Steam on March 31, 2009. For more information, please visit steamgames.com |

Hmm... 14.99$? I'm not claiming that this price point is breaking the bank or anything but where do these people get the nerve to charge 14.99$ for this game? I mean this economy f***ing blows and these people are charging a month of WoW or 3 fast food meals, or even gas in my tank for this indy platformer?
Just the other day Gabe Newell was on the internet talking about how games have become way too expensive... Well here's a game that I consider to be too much. Where's the replay value in this game? OHHHH collect all the collectables. Left 4 Dead is a prime example. This is a zombie shooter that randomly generates different monsters for a total of 4 levels. 4 LEVELS. Damn sir? These levels take 30 mins to beat on normal (which I'm assuming the average player plays on). Anyway, when L4D first came out it was released at 49.99$ and I'm talking PC only here. That's insanely expensive for such a lack luster game. Don't get me wrong, I love Left 4 Dead but that's just down right highway robbery. So I waited for a price drop... They recently sold the game for 24.99$ a pop and Valve claimed that they saw a 3000% sales increase. GD doesn't that tell them something?!?!?! Even at 24.99 I feel like the game is still expensive, but at that price I'm willing to pay for it. I mean damn, L4D has as much unique play time as portal, and they sell portal for 10$. FFS lower the price of games. Especially this cutey pie platform game. |

try the demo and youll see that it is probly worth that price but no one is willing to pay for it, its like concept cars they are worth millions no one wants to buy them tho
left for dead has some replay value and they are adding campaigns, multiplayer co-op is there too they should have some other online modes tho other than just co-op

World of goo is brilliant even with the $20 price tag.
