I'm considering getting this Asus HD 22" Wide LCD, it's about 30 bucks cheaper shipped than I got my current 22" monitor shipped a few months ago. It goes 1920x1080 where my current monitor does 1680x1050, just curious if it's worth it and how my GTX should do with my current OC's and setup. I'm sure it'll be ok and not drop too crazy, plus it'd give me reason to OC it more! I don't play Crysis, nor is it worth mentioning for performance, but I do play a lot of shooters, indie games, racing games, rts games, etc.

I think it'll be ok, I'm just now wondering how my G/F's rig'll do with that vmodded and heavily OC'd 9600GT at 1680x1050...I think that will be ok too. But I'd like some suggestions. Really if I get this monitor my months' upgrade budget is toast. Your thoughts? yay or nay?

Get it Kursah, in fact I recommend a 24" widescreen, games look killer at 1920x1200, and these cards handle it! Any game, crysis, gta iv, don't matter. I could never do lower res again.

Okay, I need help here guys, if I run furmark at stock clocks, no problem, if I go 650/1400 it locks up every time. I was running IL2 1946 at stock, it locked up. Gpu at the time was at like 54c. My vregs run dam hot. I used to be able to do 713/1458 all day, now it's crashing on even low usage games. RMA time?

Yah, RMA or figure out if it's something you can fix yourself. Software problems/driver issues come to mind.

Could be, I did some tweaking of system ram settings and dropped cpu and ram voltage, almost stable, then updated to 182.08, don't want to jinx myself.. but did some full oc gaming, usual suspects like crysis ect, behaving normal again. I may have pushed things a bit too far heheh! Not going to breathe yet, but feeling better about my card. Need new thermal pads bad...... Why did they use such low quality thermal pad material in a $500 video card ug!!

Well I got my XFX GTX 285 In and I like it.....benches alittle lower than my 9800GX2 it replaced but gameplay seems smoother.....running stable In Fur and ATI tool at 760/1650/1350 so far.....shaders seem to be unlinked as I can run them at 1650....but If I link the core and shaders with a 760 core speed the shaders want to run at 1713Mhz and that simply won't do....Instant artifacts.....but can run 1650 shaders all day.....still messing with the core...I think theres more there....cool temps In my basement mean I will try for more.

Well, it appears if I use anything above stock clocks on Clearsky, my screen will go multi-colour and system locks up. Does this sound like a problem? I don't know what to do with this 500 dollar card, but it won't oc anymore. Think I'll just put my 9800gtx back in and sell this dam thing...... The vrms run so hot on this thing, and I can't source thermal pads up here to fix it. Frustrating. How was your day?
Edit: yes appears the heavy folding ect has damaged the card, I have to rma it, ug, oh well, it was a nice $500 card while it lasted! (why it got damaged, horrible thermal pad interface for the vrms, thank palit)
In fact, is Palit_Guy around here? I really am unhappy with this 280, first, regreasing it took it from folding at 81c to 71c, I had to rebuild the vrm pads from the leftover ram pad stuff.. but I ran it for a long time without touching it, if I had, it would have lasted longer. Now it just goes to full screen artifacting at anything above stock in games. Never did that before. Gotta luv these $500 cards.....

Turns out I do have to return my card. Anyone know how long the turn around is to palit usa? I've got to put my old 7600gs in my server and use my old 9800gtx in my main rig now. This will be fun.....

Dont know how long shipping takes from you to them and back but I would guess in total about 2-3 weeks with shipping time, maybe a little less.

Installed a Thermalright HR-03 GTX on my GTX 260 Core 216, I'll post some pics of it soon Took roughly 15-20 minutes to install(I took my time )

Temps are as followed:
FurMark - 48-49C
Vantage - 45-46C
Folding@Home - 44-45C
Crysis Benchmark - 46-47C
Far Cry 2 Benchmark - 43C

The only thing I managed to run into was my VRM's running a bit hot, but I removed the thermal pads on them and replaced it with some Tuniq TX-2 and all is good now

With the Thermal Pads:

You'll be amazed at the temps that you can get with that cooler! If I wasn't anal about sound, I'd have mine still on one of the cards.. I was just amazed at the drops on it!

I had a Scythe Slipstream fan on my baby. Gave me some good temps! Here's the review that I did for everyone.

But nice thought on a fan controller.

As for the size... One yate loon has a divot into the blades due to the fact it was tearing into my sound card... Good old Maximus board!!! lol..

Question, I read somewhere that you can reverse it...I wasn't sure if that was possible or not.

Tired to do so, but with how they did the layout of the ram, it's a no go. If you see the picture I took (the one right before the my pictures showing the temps) the ram right above the GPU core isn't right on top of the others... So, those are in the way..

Yeah.. It could be done, but I wouldn't suggest running the card without ram sinks.. Plus, the weight of the cooler, probably come and crush the card..

Yeah, Mine did to. That's why it ate up my Sound card because of the Maximus Layout.. That's also the reason I had the Styrofoam under the fan. To prop it up better.. But, I can say after 3 months, it doesn't bend anymore then what you have it at now... That was also without the Styrofoam due to my 780i board.
