ATI 9.3 DX9 & 10 performance DRIVER

I would like to give some info about the performance increase i got in tweaking 9.3 driver......

but i really want to know how many are happy with the 9.2 SKD tweak driver. coz

last time, many where saying not impressive, which made me feel bad.

let me be clear.

i do it for my use.... and i like to share it with others, coz i like to put a smile on others face...

And i don't see that many people posting comments.... positive or negative
.... only few which i really appreciate....

Here is the link to download 9.3 SKD drivers ATI SKD Driver Home

i don't expect people to laugh at me work.... i hate that..........

AND FOR 3DMark users... its Sht*

It only for Nvidia users to compare Nvidia cards.. not to compare ATI with NVIDIA.........

Farcry2

Tweaked 9.2 SKD

Farcry2

Tweaked 9.3 SKD

My ATI Tweak tool is going good... will give more updates soon

ATI SKD Tweak tool Coming soon.

i have provided a non working sample, just to give a feel for what i am doing now u can get it from the SKD driver home site

this is just a rush in tool. the version 1 tool wont have all that u see in the picture
this tool will run in system tray and will give you menu like in CCC but with some tweaks

I need to to be able to vote twice lol.. 9.3 drivers were no good for me under XP X64 i noticed a few FPS less and a worse average FPS to the point games were annoying top play due to low FPS.

How ever going try them in Vista Ult x64 as soon as i have enough time. Just because others seen to be getting on better with them in Vista than i did in XP.

SKD i actually find your inf tweaks very interesting. I do believe there is some performance to be gained in your tweaked inf. But the only reason i have not tried it yet is because you say as soon as i load the ATI control panel it will wipe your settings.

So i may try this sometime later this week but i was hoping for a better way to apply your tweaks. Maybe you should release a repackaged driver like omega or tweakforce and call it SKD drivers. heh =P That tool you said you were working on looked better as well cause it looked like you made your tweaks a boost button you press to apply them.

Something like that would make it so much easier to test and try your tweaks. Anyway thanks for your sharing your settings. =)

Ya you are right... the boost button is for applying the best performance settings that i find.. i will start repacking once my tool is ready... Driver+tweak no more CCC

Thanks m8

OOps you might want that thanks back lol... Some reason i miss read it even more so the SKD part lol.

Give me the links more than willing to try it and see if the 9.3 driver is better than ATI's 9.3 as i thought they were rubbish As min and average FPS was much lower.

saikamaldoss, can I have a link for your post on the other forums?
I've been told that you driver tweak for the 9.2 version is very good, and I'd like to try this one: and I'd also like a short and -easy to understad- explanation of what you have changed.
Thanks

Is there a trade off in some respect?

ie do you have to suffer poorer image quality to gain higher frame rates?

How is it exactly you are boosting the frame rate?

if it works for most but u, then there is something wrong in the way you are installing. or may be a problem with your OS and for that u voted that the driver is bad hmmm....

Anyway, give it one more try. uninstall CCC + driver and install standerd VGA . use driver sweeper in safe mod to remove all ATI driver components. then go to registry ( HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Video ) delete all GUID key and restart your system. then install just the driver. it will say, driver is not signed. click install anyway. restart one more time. it should work. but if u use CCC or ATT. the driver settings will be gone. so u will have to uninstall ATT as well.

Hey there are lot of filters and settings for DX which can be modified. and the quality wont be noticeable. in some cases. u get better stability and quality with this mod

The ATI CCC is the problem.. not the driver. the driver settings are set for High quality and Nvidia uses quality. the tweak uses some trick to match nvidia trick

I tested 9800+ on passmark and got 1674 and 4850 got 1333. after my first tweak i got 1590 and u can see the latest tweak gives it 1900+ in the same test..

The FPS in the first test with passmark jumped from 1970 to 3100+ and the second test went from 640 to 830+.. and the best was DX10 form 14.4FPS went up to 21.8

I will post the driver today///....... may be in 3 hours time.. doing some final tweaking on my v3 driver and checking for stability and crash.. coz driver v2 had a problem... after installing and on the first boot. as soon as it gets to desktop.. the colors where all mixedup. but a F5 refresh will fix it, that's y there is a delay. thats FIXED now

but i want to see people posting results... please please please. this time, here should be a slight 100 or 150 points increase in 3dmark but i don't know for sure.. but please don't expect much on 3dmark and its only for Nvidia fanboys,.. not for us

previous 9.2 SKD driver link click here

saikamaldoss;

i do not currently have a card that this driver could aid, but i felt the need to post a comment anyhow.

I have been intently following the thread about SKD 9.2 and now 9.3 - it is fairly obvious what you have done has real gains for most people, and i applaud your efforts.

be it a slightly modified inf, a completely reworked driver, or anywhere in between, damn good work dude, your efforts have clearly heeded gains.

to the skeptics out there ...... cut this guy some slack, he is really putting himself out there to try and impress on you the gravity of his tweaks. Even if the tweaks do not work out for you, please give our support. We are damn well the best tech forums out there, lets show saikamaldoss why we are.

saikamaldoss - keep up the good work, it is obvious that you care whether the tweaks work or not, and that you want to keep improving them as time goes on.

I thank you for your work, the users that you have helped thank you, and i am sure TPU thanks you for sharing your work with us. I do hope you decide to stay on as a forum regular, and I think you'll slot in perfectly with other key members that share your passion of driver tweaking.

this makes me want to bust out my mates 4870 and test farcry 2

I have made some bench runs on GTAIV and CSS, here are the results:
Counter Strike Source bench:
-9.3: 264.36fps
-9.3modified: 265.12fps
Grand Theft Auto IV bench:
-9.3: 45.76fps
-9.3modified: 46.50fps

My PC got stuck when I first rebooted and closed F@H, I may have installed them wrong.
(I have copied those 2 files into the instalation of the 9.3 drivers, and installed them.)

As promised, this weekend I'll do some tests more xD

Oh and F@H has fallen down massively, so I'm changing back to the 9.3 for the moment =)

I have just tried by deleting completly the driver and installing the driver with your files (without CCC), for this i have deleted the ATI registries and stuff but I couldn't manage to get better results, the last ones in GTA IV are: 44.57 and F@H GPU won't start. =<

I have just got an error while installing the original 9.3, "INF file not found"
