HD4850X2 or GTS 250 ???

Hello all. I have a Gainward GTS 250 2Gb (189 Euros) card and i wonder that it's a good deal to swap it with a Sapphire HD4850X2 2Gb (279 Euros) card ?! The price difference is at 90 Euros in shops and i can get it for only 60 Euros ! Need some suggestions ! Thanks

I don't think it's worth it. If you want something to bench/play with then go for it but gaming wise you aren't gonna notice much.

Oh I read wrong, I thought it was GTX 260, in that case then yes a 4890 2gb/4850x2 would be awesome! I would wait for a 2gb 4890 if you want but 1gb is more than enough.

It would blow it out of the water.

It would be well worth the upgrade.

Why are we even having this discussion?

4850X2 = 2x G92.

Now just discuss the price/performance difference relating to currency in your country.

well it depends on what the comp is for. If new high end games are important and you are using a newer PCI X 2.0 board than the 4850 X2 is better.
(but the 250 is a pretty good card for 1680 X 1050)

The PC is for games and pretty soon i will purchase a 24" or 27" lcd monitor and there i will have 1920x1200 rezolution. So this is the main motive why i would like to change my actual videocard... I not sure and i wonder if the new HD4890 is not a better option for me right now?!

I would pick the 4890 if those were your 2 options. (4850 X2 or 4890)

I think on the bigger res the 250 would need to be in SLI.

(I havent heard anyone say the 2gig cards are any better than the 1 gig ones)

So the Sapphire HD4850X2 2Gb version cost 279 euro, but after doing some research i finded a Palit HD4870X2 Revolution 700 Deluxe 2GB for only 325 Euro... Now i have only money for the 4850X2 but if i wait another week i will have the money for the R700. It's a tuff decision but i think it's worth it... NO ?!

4870X2 would be a much better choice, not only is it Palit but you 800mhz clock speeds vs 650 and 1800mhz GDDR vs 3800mhz GDDR.

I think my PSU will/should handle the card... it's a Corsair TX750 750W. Or it's already the time to upgrade my PSU to ?!
