Wow I saw a pic of that earlier and I thought it was something from 4chan. It's for real!

I just got one. I think it could help when running 4 cards in keeping stable high clocks.

Thanks to x2

...assuming those are HD 4670 cards, that draw all their power from the slots. This piece of plastic reduces electrical noise, not adding stability. If those are HD 4830/4770s, you're probably better off with a better PSU.

...or more beer this weekend.

I have a good PSU
reduces electrical noise, should increase stability

I got it with a trade.

Please do tell us how that goes

When I first saw the card, I thought it was a holder for replacement capacitors, LOL

what this does is that it acts as an EMI shield from one side of the card to the other. think: electric field in the air

the pcie power connection is to put some power planes as barriers there. the capacitors are used to have those power planes at a stable voltage that doesnt fluctuate like the voltages on the pcie bus.

in theory it does work. no idea if it can really make any difference

I would think that quality motherboards and power supplies will have that type of technology integrated to them already.

And most of electrical noise can been avoided if you plug all your equipment to a single quality power strip.

So it should help cards that are only powered by the buss more. Also wonder if it works threw the while buss, and not just between two cards seeing that I'm planing to install 4 cards.

I traded 2x2GB worth of DDR3 for it...
