Futuristic Meterials; an amazing thread!
I was looking at FacePunch forums today, and noticed a thread which is a compilation of various futuristic materials and devices. It is really, really awesome.
There are ferrofluids, flexible metal, see through concrete, a Warthog from Halo (like, a working one!), Balisong knives, a BMW+Thermaltake computer case, cloaking devices, OLED displays, miracle fruit... the list goes on! Here it is; http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=702304 Enjoy!

Wow, there's some really interesting stuff through there. I have yet to get through the whole thing but I love the OLED keyboard

You should check out
D3O, flexible shock resistant material ( shock as in we bottled one of our friends with a thick wine glass whilst he was wearing a D3O hat and he only got a wee bump instead of a concussion!/blood everywhere)

Thanks for blowing the rest of my evening dude.
Some pretty cool stuff. Fave so far is transparent alumina - anybody remember the star trek movie with the whales? I guess the idea has been around for a while.

They used the OLED map on Babylon AD. I thought stuff like that would be on the horizon!
