LG Intros 21.5'' Full HD W2243T Display

LG introduced the W2243T LCD monitor. The glossy, piano-black casing packs a 21.5 inch LCD panel, with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The panel features an access time of 5 ms. It has a static contrast ratio of 1000:1, and a dynamic ratio of 30000:1, with a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m². Standard DVI and D-Sub make for the monitor's connectivity options. It is available in the US for around $182, with its Japan launch set for April 30.

yet another samsung clone.

its viewing angle will be 170/160, just like all the rest. (That said, they're all nice screens - samsung just tends to have better OSD's)

I love LG and Samsung monitors, since the quality and build looks very similar to their TV LCD screens.

when I am on the computer I prefer the old school style

lol I rather the feel of "I'm in my lounge playing games on my big HD 52" inch LCD" and this LG 21.5" Full HD has that feeling from the looks of it!

a lot of these screens are. Samsung make the panel and original design and resell them. The other companies change just enough to not be copycats (the frame is slightly altered, a different OSD/button functions (buttons are sometimes in the same place, just reordered lol)

But hey, why break something that aint broke? And i noticed the lower samsungs dont have HDMI ports and speakers, while some of the clones have. so thats a plus for sure.

The last few monitors I have happened to use where LG - For no real reason other than chance.

Generally nice screens but :

LG's OSD, SCREEN BUTTONS AND MENUS ARE AN ABSOLUTE ABORTION - THE WORST I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE OF TRYING TO FIGURE OUT - I HAVE LEARNED MORE TACTICAL LANGUAGE WATCHING PEOPLE TRYING TO USE THESE THAN YOU WOULD LEARN IN A DOCK YARD - THE DESIGNER SHOULD BE FIRED

This may just be my personal experience, but there it is...

Other than that they are great, and most of the ppl I know use them - If you HAVE an LG' and you are one of those ppl who like to adjust their brightness and such, Just Google "Forte Manager"

Luckily LG supply this app to manipulate your screen via software & save & load profiles.

I really wish the industry would step away from Tn-Film panels for HD displays. It defeats the purpose of having an HD display.

Not compared to a VA or IPS based panel. Tn-Film looks like ass. That's why all the high-end LCD TV's are VA panels.

Agreed, mine doesn't have HDMI output nor speakers. But it sure as hell has better quality picture than my 22" Asus vw222u.

agreed. due to the new tech in my 23.6", some things go to my TV, others go to this screen... but if you're looking at colors the TV (VA panel) wins hands down .
