Q9550: Experiences please!

Well, I couldn't hold out and I've treated myself to a Q9550 (C1) stepping. I found a freaking great price for one on eBay - albeit, it does have to come from the Czech Republic (which I'm a little worried about) - however, the geezers feedback was 100% so I shouldn't have too much to worry about.

Anyroad, my point is, if you've owned a Q9550 or even any C1 rev based Yorkfield CPU I'd be happy to hear your experiences.

M8, your going to have fun with that chip! I loved mine! Even if it wasn't a EO! C1 is still good!

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=526533

Could get more out of the chip if it wasn't due to the 780i fsb hole... grrr that thing!!

I can't freaking wait, I really hope it gets here before or around my Birthday.

My GF is going to buy me a Noctua NH-U12P hoping it'll suffice.

What d'you mean won't spoil it, d'you know something I don't? The seller had 100% positive feedback, plus I'm insured so it should be ok.

Well, I hope my P5E3 will suffice - I'm pretty pleased with it so far tbh - can't say I've had any issues with it at all (touch wood).

Just got mine a few weeks ago, and I regret nothing from switching from a 4.0ghz dual core. The Q9550 is an awesome upgrade from your e5300, you should get it to 3.8ghz minimum , but with that cooler I am cheering you on to break 4!

I went from a quad to a 4GHz dual, and think its great!

I am somewhat amused that we took opposite actions, yet both think it was worth it.

Oh right I see - pretty frivolous then.

On topic, my CPU is either still in Prague, or is somewhere in the UK.

If only you had your System Specifications all filled out nicely so I could see what motherboard you are using.
