No offense, but isn't this thread kind of redundant, sure it is specific to what works, but there are already like 2 or 3 other windows 7 threads that I have seen being posted in the past few days.

There was an updated opengl i had to install for Vista. So its probably the same for Win 7.

yeah that's what it is, just been to busy with other things.

Problems with vista when it was release, and some programs still doesn't work all that great. but yet they run flawless on win7. kinda wierd

but o a side note, i'm very impress how well win7 works. my specs are still the same, and it's still runs like a champ now when i get a video card i'll be very happy camper lol

more app:
Convertdvdx (about 15-20fps less than vista, but in till ati works on better and a final release drivers. this will be well improved)
Imgburn
Vantage
StarWars Battlefront 2

Codecs: not sure if you wanted this, but this could help someone
VistaCodecs
Klite x86 (Media Player- works perfect)

I'll keep this thread alive. But instead of posting what works, I'm going to post what doesn't work.

Right now I'm having trouble with 3DMark06. Soumething about OpenGL.dll in not found on my system. Well, I found it. And I tried to run 3DMark after putting it in it's system folder (damn if you can't find it in the OS folder you better find it now!! ) and then I get a totally different error!

Anh??? I just want 3DMark06 to run on my Windows 7 RC1 Build 7100 and it doesn't.

Just got a twin HD3870 and I'm curious about my 3DMark 06 score while crossfired...

I'm looking for ideas or if people have had similar problems and have solved them. Please. Thanks.

OK guys. I'm trying to download the RC from MS, but when I come to the download page, I get the "download manager will now begin download", the nothing happens. What's weird is this is what happens, despite which browser I use, IE, Firefox or Chrome...WTF?

I know this sounds real stupid and you deserve to shoot me for even bringing it up, but did you clear your cache and cookies? Okay okay!! Easy now....I'm just trying to help and am in no way referring to your level of expertise. (I guess it comes from being internet support for Comcast as a living!

j/k. Yeah, I did that. For some reason it just doesn't like Vista 64. I'm downloading it now on my XP system, and it's working fine.

I know it's a Java thing too, so maybe check to see if your upto date on your Java Runtime software. Other than that I'm not sure whats up, especially if you've tried different browsers.

Ya, it worked darn fine with BETA 7000...but I can't seem to get it to work with RC 7100.

I really don't want to hear about how it works with people...I want suggestions.

As I said, When I start 3DMark06, it say "Sorry, the program cannot start because OpenGl.dll cannot be found. (see original post.)

Geez. Anyone?

EDIT: Oops, sorry Paulie...didn't mean to steal your thunder....I actually have my own thread about this problem...I'll pay more attention from here!

Hmmmm, I'm very leery about those things. Rather just try re-installing until it works.

Thanks anyway!

I have the same issue with 06. I wanted to bench my GTX 285, but after I fixed the OpenGL.dll error, another one popped up. I then said fuck it and quit trying. If anyone finds a fix for it Id love to hear about it.

Thanks Crash. I'm glad I'm not the only one. So it's a futuremark/win7 issue. I'll keep the radar on for any fixes.

In the meantime I'm gonna sell my GPUs as soon as I get the money up to but the Sapphire Radeon Atomic HD4890 1Ghz DDR5
I thought maybe, just maybe going crossfire with my the HD3870's might allow me to go Very high settings in crysis but all I got was better framerates...cool but GONG!!!

So here's the fix for the OpenAL32.dll error for Windows 7 64 bit when trying to start 3DMark06. It happens to be a known issue with Vista 64 bit too.

Go here: http://connect.creativelabs.com/deve...20Windows.aspx

and download the OpenAL installer for windows. It worked first shot for me.
