The 850 on the egg is 199.99 but it just came out price will drop a bit more than likely, as well with rebates in the coming months.

I found a site thats listing the hx750 for 258.50 thats pretty high for my taste I hope to see it drop a little bit maybe around 175-200

It's based on the CWT DSG design instead of the common CWT PSH design.

The 850 and 750 you are talking about are the TX850 and TX750 which are non-modular and they use the CWT PSH design... The HX850 and HX750 is the gap filler between the HX650 (or 675, I forget) and the HX1000.

However, all Corsair Power Supplies are superb from the budget CX versions to the high end HX versions.

well it's not really outrageous, there's an 850watt by Xig that's are $179, but then there's Rosewill's 850watt that's $108. price range goes all the way up to $279 for thermaltake. Guess just depends on what you thk the PSU is worth. Personally i wouldn't spend $279 on the thermaltake when the Xiggy 850w is rated up to 87% efficient with good reviews for $90 less.

It's a Corsair you will find people who are brand loyal enough to buy it. Not saying they aren't nice PSU's but all expensive for my tastes.

the only thing I don't like is the fans are top side compared to older models which were bottom side however because the wire guard is in the housing which makes the top side completely flat you can just flip it upside down so I guess I shouldn't complain. I do wish they would include modular dust caps like other companies they are basically these plastic covers you mount on a unused connector so dust doesn't get in.

haha yea man, off mah back . well i usually, like i'm sure most u, feel i know a dam good bit bout hardware, but PSU tech is one area i've never really learned much about, and i obviously don't pay attention to PSU releases . hum found something to google and read up on while i pass another school night.

wow, see i never paid attention to modularity(thk that's a word). but dam big price diff.

The non-modular 750w is cheaper than the 620w modular. u guys really value a PSU being modular to pay that premium? Can't figure it's actually that hard for the manufacturer to make a PSU modular is it?

it's not really about modular cables but more about cable management and air flow some cases are compartmentalized like the Antec Performance One, Silverstone TJ-07, Lian Li V1xxx, V2xxx and Tyr PC-X2000 so there is no need for a modular power supply and some cases like the HAF 932 have premium cable management because of the width of the case it has a lot of space from the distance between the right side panel and motherboard tray so that you can store two non-modular power supplies if you really wanted to.

ah, well my PSU isn't modular and i don't have near the best cable management, but everything that i could move i tied down and out of the way near the top of my case with some rubber like strings i found in my kitchen drawer lol. For me i'll save the money on a modular psu and just take some time to tie cables down
