Noob System Build Advice

I am looking to build my first computer (after a decade) and have chosen the following components. I want to keep the total build at/around $1000. I do not do a lot of intense gaming, but do some video editing. I am stuck on choosing a case, I cannot decide. I know I want a mid-tower, with good cable management, and external ports for audio/mic/usb (firewire would be nice, but not mandatory). I would also like to be able to see into the case, just b/c I have had PCs for 20 years and wanted something different.

Originally I liked the following case, but decided against it as all reviews say the front cover blocks the fan and the cable management is poor:

I have heard the antec 900 is extremely popular, but the cable management looks awful, and I do not want to get out power tools to cut holes to make management easier.

I also do prefer not get get a case where I have to open a door to access the DVD drives as I access them all the time and find the doors useless.

Anyway, hope this is not too much to ask. I look forward to the feedback. I am sticking with AMD, so please do not suggest Intel.

The system looks good, I can not criticise it much.

For video editing and general work related stuff I would stick in 8 GBs, it will save you the hassle of adding more ram in the future. Make you've got a x64 operating system too.

Don't get the Ultra case- Ive used it and its meh... very cheap, will make the entire build feel cheaper.

Good cases are a bit expensive but here are some of my favorites... the TJ09 might be too big, but its still an awesome case.

You can get the deluxe 790fx version, with 85$ off combo deal or the same board you picked with $80 off! Check it out there are different boards too but look man there is good stuff! Trying to help you save
I would go with the ASUS M4A79T Deluxe because it is only $35 more than the M4A78T-E combo deal and its a really nice board man. It is even cheaper than just buying the board and CPU alone lol.

EDIT: One more thinkg don't get that shoddy OCZ RAM get this really good quality crucial RAM, it will overclock much better if you want to but it is still great ram at stock. These : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820148262

I really like the look of the Lian Li case, I am going to take a closer look at those. And also look into the mobo and memm suggestions.

Its a nice rig, i suggest going with the Lian Li, has a better rep then Ultra.

Yeah, I will definitely look into the combo deals when I make the purchase. My initial concern was making sure that I had picked the correct components before spending the, hardly ever seems to be there, $$$.

I noticed no heat spreader on the first set. Will that become an issue when gaming?

No it will not they run cool. Even overclocked they don't need heat spreaders. For alot of RAM it is just a gimmick. If you are paranoid though you could buy some heatsinks down the road but overall the crucial is a much better kit.

Unless u oc the ram by a lot with insanely high voltages, then no.

As for the build seems fine. For a case, check the NZXT Tempest. Is like the 900 but bigger with easier cable management.

And yes, if u do video editing, get 8gb for your own safety.
