Cyrodill (sic) is where you join the fighters guild and the Dark Brotherhood (of NOD) Talk to the redguard in the fighters guild in Cyrodill and you should be able to join.

before that kill one of the homeless peeps if you want to join the Brotherhood (of burritos).

The first Fighter's Guild is in Anvil. Enter through the north gate and you'll be looking directly at the Fighters Guild and the Mage's Guild

The second Fighter's Guild is in Cheydinhal. From the maingate (east gate), go straight and follow the road as it curves. The Fighter's and Mage's guilds are on the block to your right.

The head of the Fighter's Guild is in Chorrol. From the north gate, follow the path and at the large tree, go right.

There's other Fighter's Guilds but they are insignificant unlike the Mage's Guilds.

You can join all four guilds:
-Thieve's Guild: Bribe a beggar and they'll tell you where to go.
-Dark Brotherhood: Kill an innocent (my prefered hit is Agronak gro-Malog, the Grand Champion of the Arena).
-Mage's Guild: Go to any of the 7 chapters (one in each city) and talk to the head mage to join.
-Fighter's Guild: See above (Anvil, Chorrol, or Cheydinhal).

-Arena: Not really a guild but still similar. It is in the Imperial City, just run down the basement and talk to Owyn.

All of the above posts are great pieces of info. Joining all of the guilds is fun. I really love the mage's guild because of spell creation.

And if you forget, you can ask to join at any of the guilds from the guild master. They will tell you where to go and who to talk to join.

Yes, you can join all the guilds which is funny as shit. Halfway through the game I had more power and influence than the King. I also made it a point to get the "Follower" from each guild to come with me, so I have a small militia of people and creatures following me everywhere.

P.S. Strangely, no follower or guild member seems to care I am the Listener...and a murderer...yet the Crusader of the Nine as well. Do the Knights of the Nine last so the shrines will absolve you of your "sins".

I usually do Mage's Guild first (make me a cloak 100% spell), followed by Thieve's Guild (the mask is very helpful), the the Fighter's Guild (get your combat stats leveled up), then the Arena (to get the safe murder), and finally the Dark Brotherhood (favorite quests).

yes... when you move lock up, the pin either goes up really fast, or much slower. Click only when the pin rises slower, the ones that pop up quick will come crashing down. So if it pops up quick, wait for it to come back down, and pop it up until you see it rise to the top slower than before.

Itll make more sense once you try it.

Do what he said. South east of map, just off the road from whichever city is down there. You get the most useful tool in the game. An unbreakable lock pick that gives you a +40 in security. Then you can just click auto elevendy bagillion times for the rest of the game.

P.S. I didn't know you could beat the game?!

The game never ends so it really can't be "beaten." You can do pretty much everything worth doing and be bored out of your mind. I'd call that beaten (been there, done that). XD

You'll encounter "Very Hard" locks before you get access to an "Unlock Very Hard Lock" spell. The easy/very easy ones are there to train you how to do it. Also, get in the habit of buying lockpicks whenever you see them available for sale. You can never have enough of them.

Yeah the Skeleton key is one of the most useful artifacts you can get from a quest. The other is Azura's Star. The Umbra sword + Azura's star = soul trapping goodness + cut enemies to bits

I pick the locks by sound, with my eyes closed. There is a distinctive sound when the pins are good for picking. When they will break your pick they go *chink* but when they are ready to be picked they go *ch-chink* . Try it out, I can pick any lock in the game first or second try.

I drive blind folded, there is a distictive sound when your in the wrong lane, sort of sounds like honking.

Sorry had to, sounded like a wax on wax off, do this blind folded and ninja like type thing.

But I do agree it sounds a bit different on a slow pin, I don't think I could do it blind folded though.
