Has anyone heard of the jedi council..(IRL) well its the council that has been put in place that all SW authors have to report their scriptures too before it is published, bioware has a author named drew karpyshyn that does the story board. he is a scifi author and his work is answerable to the jedi council..

What that basically means is that TOR will be very story driven... and very SW what is more needed by the sw fanboy/girl

actually lol i do, i beat kotor again bout 2 weeks ago with mods installed(yavin IV and a few others), i also played KotOR II like back in april with mods installed as well that added content that wasn't completed by obsidian bc of the rushed release. I play both bout once a year sometime. I do this with a lot of games, let em rest after beating them then reinstall like 6months-1yr later.

Nice, but most people don't do that. I myself still haven't played KOTOR II yet, I'm working my way through I right now, and also Mass Effect to load up on Bioware goodness before TOR comes out.

never played mass affect. as for KotOR II, its fun but once you beat it your kinda like boo, kotorI was better. at least that's how it was for me. and then if your like me you'll be curious why it pales in comparison to kotor and that's because obsidian had a deadline and had to rush the game out with unfinished parts of the game. Some of the content has been re-added by kotor community with some places that obsidian didn't finish completed by a mod community. But yea Kotor II woulda been much better if bioware had done it imo or if obisidan hadn't had a deadline.

i would download mass effect but ima wait till next week to play any good visual games when i order my HD 4890 .

though i will admit, i usually don't get excited about mmo's but because this is based aorund kotor and the intro movie looked tight as hell i am. anyone kno the expected release date? like a month or even a q1/2/3/4? 2010?

Mass Effect is a must, if you think the conversations in KOTOR is amazing, wait till Mass Effect blows you away. Just the body reactions people give when talking to them is amazing, and the dialogue and voice acting is just awesome. I can't really begin to say how amazing it is, but the circle interface they use for chat is most likely what will be in TOR, and I hope it is, because it's awesome.

Compared to KOTOR I how long is KOTOR II. So far on I I have done the Sith Academy, and moved on to Tattoine. Just got HK, I been told I'm about 3/4 through the game.

well depends, is it your first run though? when i recnetly just beat it like 2 weeks ago it was probly teh 5th time i've beat it since it came out so i go through it quick. but yea to give you an example, i've beat both games and know both like in and out. i can beat kotor 1 in like 20hrs gameplay, i can beat kotor II in like 38-45. so the 2nd one is a good bit longer. but storyline isn't as good imo. makes me wanna download and play it just talkin bout it lol. how you beat kashyyk? if you've only gotten koriban and tattoine your more like 1/2 through the game. you have kashyyk, manaan, and then there's another planet and the star forge which made up probly 6hrs of gameplay themselves if you haven't played. i say your half way through it.

It was fun to run around and look at things in WoW. And I took my time, probably the slowest lever ever. But when I hit the limit, nothing was left.

And as said, I play games because I enjoy them, but I will not play them to gain some extra points within the game as that doesn't really give me anything.

And I still play Kotor 1/2! Can't wait for Team Gizka to finish up their restoration mod!

Now this is something that I don't know what to feel aobut. I'm more a fan of a bit more zoomed out perspective (like The Longest Journey), but it serves a purpose to zoom in a bit. But then they cant make a game as realistic as real life (yet) so it all feels a bit awkward and forced. This is also true with Kotor, sadly, but it's still very good though.

Seconded. Mass Effect also has the best conversation with a villain (And the best villain) I've seen in a long while. This conversation alone is well worth the entire play through.

Yeah I haven't played before, and I was doing every option there was, just taking my time.

I haven't played that, but I like the Cinematic angles Bioware uses, it feels like your watching a movie, it isn't a straight on face shot, but more like an upper body and face shot, so you can see what they do with their arms too as those are big things in conversations. Part of the reason I couldn't ever play Fallout or Oblivion is the face to face convo. I can't stand looking at some person, who looks like they have on a fake smile and blink their eyes, it's boring and their reactions are cheesy compared to what Bioware has done.

yea its a fun game. when i first played it i was like "THIS GAME IS FUCKING GREAT!" haha. still consider my favorite star wars game/rpg. Has the best storyline i've ever played in a game. I've played other single player rpgs like diablo I/II, dungeon siege 1/2, nwn2, and they're fun but just don't compare to the depth of KotOR's storyline.

never played force unleashed, i wasn't sure if it was like kotor, with customizable attributes, force powers, etc. Customizability is something i love in a game and kotor did a great job with it. force unleashed looked like a game that had too much set in stone, character appearance, force powers and whatnot.

I'm pretty sure it's like KOTOR. But I'm not sure about KOTOR II, I haven't played that. I see you mention character apperance, and I don't think either KOTOR you get to make your own facial features and such, but I'm not 100% sure, so thats why I say 1st for sure.

Yeah, I actually do still play KotOR and I am looking for Kotor 2. I need to check out these mods, I have never heard of them.

go here for kotor I and II mods. There is a yavin IV mod for kotor I that lets you visit Yavin IV, you kno that space station with the alien that has special gear, from there you can go to yavin IV if you have the mod installed. i do not recommend you use the Yavin IV mod your first time through kotor htough as the items you get from the sith temple are over powered for the game(though there is also a mod on that site that increases the games difficulty by far).

As for Kotor II, there was a droid planet planned called M3, but obisidian was rushed so they never finished it, but kotor's modding community worked on what obisidan did have completed so far and added to it to have M3 included. There is also a courusant mod that allows you to visit the jedi temple on courusant. It seems a lil empty to me but hey it's an addition. If you haven't played KotOR II, its definitely worth checking out, i enjoyed as much as the origional and there's alot more content in it, the storyline just isn't as satisfying imo compared to the first one. still a great game

I didn't mean facial expressions and whatnot as no game that i kno of allows you to customize that. I just meant physical appearance, picking which force powers, attributes, and skills to upgrade. Force Unleashed has most of that set in stone from what i understand, can't really make your character different from the next person's character that plays the game. I like uniqueness in a game.
