Peer Guardian 2 and Vista x64

Some of you may use this program, it's a IP blocker. I've followed the instructions for x64 listed here http://phrosty.phoenixlabs.org/pg2-rc1/#vista64 but I still can't get it to work. Any ideas?

No offense, but don't bother with it anyway. It uses the block ban approach, so it blocks you from tons of useful IPs. It's a bit like using acid to remove a stain.

Not to mention, if you are torrenting, the agencies that try to track torrents still get your IP and what torrent you are connected to, and can still come after you if they want. So PG2 doesn't really protect you from anything.

A good firewall is all you need to keep people out of your computer.

The one on the router works great for me. But if you want a software solution, I've always had good luck with Comodo when I'm setting up a client that has no hardware based firewall. http://www.comodo.com/home/internet-...y/firewall.php

I'm using the Linksys WRT54G and have these options checked for the firewall:
Block Anonymous Internet Requests
Filter Multicast
Filter IDENT(Port 113)
Anything else I need do?

Not really, unless you want to block specific outgoing connections as well (provided the router firewall allows that), and any bad websites or IPs you may know.

No, not anything in particular. So as long as those options are set I should be good for most stuff?

Yeah, that should keep you OK against random attacks. The rest is just common sense on your end. People that really want in will always find a way tho. lol.

Beethink ip blocker (http://www.block-ip.com) works fine with Vista x64, which blocks tons of ip addresses just like peerguardian does.
