CM Storm Sentinel Advance Gaming Mouse Starts Shipping

CM Storm, a gamer-grade division of Cooler Master commenced the shipping of its new high-end gaming mouse, the Sentinel Advance. A variant of this mouse was announced back in May, at the Computex event. The mouse boasts of a 5600 dpi sensor resolution, in fact, it makes use of two lasers for enhanced precision. The onboard 64 KB memory stores button profiles. Apart from all the lighting the programmable colored LEDs provide, a tiny OLED display adds to the aesthetics, which can be made to display clan logos, etc. With a modular weight chamber, its weight can be adjusted within the range of 139 to 161.5 g. Expect the Sentinel Adavnce to be priced in the range of some of the high-end mice from others in the business.

Man just look at the dpi settings. I wonder what is the minimum you can set it at. I am a huge CM fan but will try it out when it arrives in the UK

mouse has 8 buttons, DIP increments are 200, the housing is similar to SteelSeries but has a rubber coating on it for grip, weights are all 4.5g, FPS buttons like Triple Fire and a Phillips Twin Laser engine. only problem is there is little to no teflon.

Kinda iffy on the shape, but the OLED seems kinda cool and love the dpi!
Although I don't think I would use it at the full 5600.

True about dpi. Anything over 2000 and I can't even click icons on the desktop properly.

I actually saw this at quakecon 2009 and I can feed back some information confirmed by talking to the reps there. It has DPI increments of 50dpi, and can be set anywhere between 50-5600 DPI. You can set the X-Y DPI separately as well as key them to 4 presets that are accessed on the top of the mouse. The OLED display is a bright display that can accept any image like a clan logo in a 32x32 pixel BMP format as long as it is only one color.

I am predicting an unfortunately high price... This thing competes against the likes of NZXT, not Logitech/Razer.

I usually have my Logitech G9 set from 1000-1800 DPi when gaming. I might try upping it to 1200-2000 later but I cant have it too high otherwise it will really put my aim off at the slightest touch while sniping.

Low/mid DPi = for stablility while sniping, unless my target is in a moving vehicle then I will shift DPi to 'high' to match or get ahead of the target so he runs/drives into the shot

mid/high DPi = for when running around with an automatic weapon or close quarters combat where i might need to empty a clip in a room in less then 2 seconds.

.:EDIT:.

but that IS a sexy mouse.

So ugly even its mother couldn't love it.

And still no extra buttons. WTF? I need MORE buttons. At least one on the right side similar to the thumb button (but down lower).

Do the manufs. think we only have 3 fingers?

Looks really comfortable and if the price is right, I might replace my OCZ Equalizer Laser Notebook mouse (yeah ordered the wrong one from the egg and kept it) and get that.

If you'd red the LegitReviews link you'd noticed that' it's $70, so it's not too bad.

Just got my CM Storm Battlepad DP and it's a sweet sweet mouse mat, so hopefully their new mouse will work well with it

Very nice mouse, but why don't companies ever make sweet gaming mouses like these with a universal shape? I one of those freaks that does regular computing right handed and gaming left handed.
