Acer, the world’s third largest vendor in the PC market, today announced the new Acer Veriton Z280G-EA271CP all-in-one PC for the U.S. commercial market. It delivers energy-efficient performance in a picture-perfect design. It’s available via Acer’s authorized resellers with prices beginning at just $499.

Boasting a brilliant 18.5-inch widescreen LCD monitor and measuring just 19-inches (W) by 15-inches (H) by 2.14-inches (D), this sleek all-in-one is perfect for reception areas, hotel lobbies, executive suites, cube environments and any office that requires an integrated, space-saving design.



Featuring an Intel Atom ultra-low-voltage processor and fan-less operation, the Veriton Z280G is cool, quiet and Energy Star qualified. This practical platform easily manages basic office productivity and Internet-based applications.

i guess if youre a business who knows jack about PC's and wants a good looking reasonably priced rig for your workers who write email and surf porn then this will look pretty good on their desks... but yeah... crap and overpriced IMO... (also what kind of resolution is that anyways... did they have surplus lcd panels from 1996 that they needed to use for something so they stuffed them in there!)

Doubtful. As far as I know, the N270 can't run 64-bit code... Leopard, however, shouldn't be an issue. It takes a fair bit of software/bootloader tweaking, but if you've got the right software at your disposal right from the start, it should be no more difficult to get one of these running OS X than it is to do the same with a Dell Mini.

Considering the highest price eeePC is about $450 bucks right now and doesn't have all of the features this has, I would say the price is right on target. I'm sure a month or so after release the prices will go lower.

Pre built and pre loaded OS/software, I'd say this thing is 'entry priced' just right.. Worthless for those who know pc's, but good for those who don't..

OmG . Its got Adobe Reader for free?.....which is free anyway.....and foxit is better really.....

lol but yeh i think these things are gonna be popular with people that dont know much about computers. "all in one" looks easier to setup, they dont have to worry about wires and it looks neater. There are millions that only check email and surf the net and this is good enough for them.

thats the resolution 90% of the HDTV market uses. 720p died out really fast, and was replaced by 768p.
