Norton is Good stuff. Your bank should have 128 bit encryption built into their site. As long as your computer is secure, you are all good.

LOL... I assumed that, but the way you asked I thought you were doing more.
As long as the browser in "starter" will work with https (secure) sites, you should be okay. Norton is pretty good at catching things, but don't assume you're 100% protected. Good surfing habits are always key to not getting viruses or other malware.

Everyone on TPU has their own opinion on what is best for security.
I've found Norten to be a good solution in most cases.

Kaspersky 2010 = Pros - High detection rating | Cons - Incredibly buggy Norton 2010 = Pros - uses a lot less resources then their previous versions, overall more streamlined | Cons - Detection rate isnt as good as Kaspersky, Can be a little fussy when it comes to virus detection - It will delete files without asking you what action it should take if it detects high risk virus - this could be a keygen or any other type of similar file, a 'false positive' scenario.

Norton is a good product for its security suite and anti-virus. If you would like a little more protection, Spybot S&D does a Passive protection by blocking content from a large list of know malicious sites. This will help prevent you from accidentally downloading crap.
Like Kreji said, the best thing is the practice good surfing habits. That girl doesn't want to blow you, the IM chick who "just stumbled across your profile" is not real, No one gives free computers, ipods, cell phones, etc. away for free (maybe with a subscription to like 3 magazines for like 5 years). "Businesses" that don't list their location, phone number, etc. are not to be trusted, and anything that claims your computer is infected with a virus is lying....except Norton (because you installed it to do that). And probably Norton 360, but I have not personally used Kaspersky (though I here they are very good). |

Norton 360 is a older product compared to NIS2010 or Kaspersky 2010 so might not have all the optimisations, bells & whistles as more uptodate versions which most possibly are running a newer detection engine.
.:EDIT:. my bad - I didnt realise they released different versions of 360. 1.0, 2.0 & 3.0 - 3.0 was released in 2009 which was based on NIS 2009.

Norton upgrades, their products every year. They update the virus definitions every few days or as needed.
The current Norton 360 version 3 was released released on March 4, 2009. EDIT: After review the two, go with NIS 2010. The 3 additional features Norton 360 adds are not really necessary, but could be useful in the event of a complete system failure. |

yeah go with Norton NIS2010 for the time being. Ive been using it for the last 2-3 days after switching from my beloved Kaspersky KIS2010.
Kaspersky have gone through like at least 10 beta packages on their forums but their still using .463 as their most recent stable build which is still buggy as hell (their currently testing beta .723)

However, you can still download and install the 2009 version of kaspersky, which is completely bug free on vista. (2010 is buggy as they work on it being compatible with windows 7) - the licence codes are compatible, so you could upgrade to 2010 after the bugs are worked out

i'm having zero trouble with 2010 in 7, however i disable several features.
If you want a trouble free experience, only install the File antivirus, web antivirus, firewall and network attack blocker. (i use more than that, however thats the minimum i'd use - and have no issues with those)

You could try that new "Microsoft Security Essentials" program.
