Forza 3 = Gran Turismo 5 killer?

Forza 3 is amazing and I cant see Gran Turismo being better. Gran Turismo has been in development for ages, which in some cases isnt always a good thing (ie its built on an old engine)

What do you think, will Forza 3 be the GT5 killer?

i dont know if it will beat GT5 and dont care TBH , but it does look AWSOM!!!

i just pre ordered it 4 hours ago for $112 aud hopefuly it will arrive on the 23rd-24th.

cant wait to play it, defintly worth it.

Froza 3 does look amazing, but nothing should be said till GTS 5 is out to physical compete.

I loved the old he GT titles, but why isnt GT5 available yet? I see it as a bad sign

He means Aus Dollar Not the same as US dollar Games are quite expensive in Oz, but not that bad EDIT: its not far off £70 actually....63.3286 GBP

But if they add anything too groundbreaking at this point in time, it would surely mean a lot of recoding considering theyve been working on it for ages

Im sure they could have released it by now but are holding it back because of the current good driving games on the market (NFS Shift and obviously the MS Exclusive Forza 3)

With how good Forza 3 is, I cant see GT topping it.....it would be awesome if it did, but Im thinking GT5 will be too little too late.

Can't possibly compare them, as GT5 isn't out yet.

Well I've preordered Forza 3 LCE and just got a comfirm email from Game saying money is being taken. So should have it soon.

I somehow doubt anything is a Gran Turismo killer as the series of games are the single best driving sims to grace any platform....Forza is more like a grown up Need for Speed in my view.


Nevertheless, Forza was fun to play for a while and I'm sure this one will be good too.

Dude I'm PUMPED for this game lol, have it pre-ordered and waiting for me for next Friday (woot double reward points on my GAME card, essentially €3 for free ) can't wait to get the slow cars and slowly tune them up, I love when you can only afford 1 part at a time, you get to feel or hear the difference with each new race

I wish I could have gotten the Limited Edition, I love the Custom Fairlady Z, have it in Forza 2. I pre-ordered and couldn't really afford the Limited Ed. but after I pre-ordered the normal edition my mam gave me money for the next 2 months for me to buy stuff, kinda tempted to try get the Limited Edition as I want the cars and the key ring but for pre-ordering the game I get double reward points (equiv of spending €120 instead of €60), hmm...

Either a bad sign or a strategy? Think of it this way...

Why not wait til the competition is out and than make sure your version is better? See Sony has a plan, you can't say "it copied off of Forza" because the GT series has been out way before the Forza series.

I mean just some thought, i wouldn't put them head to head until GT5 comes out.

Why should you? If GT5 was do out in less then 3 weeks or so I would agree but from what I recall it won't be out until Q2 2010. That's a long time from now. I would never tell someone to wait when a game won't be out in for the next 6 months (or so). I say try Forza 3 for the time being.

If you don't have both platforms then telling someone to wait is at best moot. I was under the impression that the posters in this thread had both 360/PS3.

+1. I think this is a pretty good statement about the two.
So, in this aspect, you can't really have a "GT killer" unless a new sim is released for the PS3.
Either way, I think GT5 will be awesome. Still haven't played Forza 3 though.

The cars look stunning on this game and the 'auction house' option is great because you can bid and win cars from others on LIVE

I hope Im wrong, but I feel Sony has left it too late. I cant see GT5 possibly having more cars etc then F3....ffs it has 400 cars and 100 tracks

I could be talking out of my arse, but GT has taken almost 5 years to make (I think) and it still isnt actually here. But Forza took about 2 years (I think) so would obviously have been built using uptodate techniques. For Sony to wait this long for the competition to release their car games (mainly meaning MicroShafts Forza 3) means they cant really go back on 5 years worth of work and change too much.

I honestly do hope Im wrong because GT was/is the greatest car game franchise ever and I would love to be blown away by GT5.......but Im not holding my breath
