Need a PSU recommendation

My friend overloaded his 500W Apevia trying to run a 9800GT, 8600GT, Q9550, and 2 HDD's. He has strictly $80 to spend on a new one which he'll be powering those same things with. Looking for something with really good quality and headroom for future upgrades. He's using a CM Elite case so no really short cable PSU's. Modular would be awesome, but mainly looking for quality, power, and a good amount of amps on the +12V rail. If it's cheaper than $80 that's great since he was planning to spend that money on something else before the PSU went kaplooey.
Thanks in advance

I was looking at this one:

I got Two.

Antec 650 EarthWatts

And because no one else will, I will throw in Newegg.com's house brand. They had a rocky start, but now Rosewill is really good bang for your buck.

I got one of those and within a day it died. (I was only drawing 200 watts too) I replaced it with a Seasonic (which died within the first week. The RMA Seasonic one has been fine for a month so far)

I've always had good luck with Corsair PSUs. For $80 before rebate and $60 after, the VX550 is an amazing deal. A little over a year ago I payed more than this for a VX450, but the 550 will handle his rig with ease (I ran a 3.2GHZ Q6600 and SLI 9600GSOs on a CX400w. It was probably close to the limits, but it still ran quiet and stable, and for $25 after rebate for the CX it was a very good purchase).

I would say 90% of reviews there are junk. And as to luck of the draw I go through about 100 PSs a month.. My draw is pretty accurate.

I would have bet the Seasonic was bulletproof but as with quite a bit of the newer hardware now a days their quality control is going downhill.

Well good luck with your choice, but I don't trust Raidmax. I have used their parts before and they are little too inconsistent. Plus it does not have Active PFC which I consider a must.
