Best way to store my Rig?
I am leaving for a couple of months (gonna miss all of you guys BTW) and I am worried about my rig. I am going to be storing it over at a friend of mines. I have a couple of questions. How is the best way to prepare it for storage? Wrap the entire rig in plastic, or should I dis-assemble it and place all the components in their Anti-static bags and original boxes? (Yes I keep all of that stuff).
What would you guys suggest? I just want my rig to be safe and still perfectly functional when I get back. Also, what is the best way to store a pair of LCD monitors?

This is why I always keep the original packaging and the foam of the case. If you don't have that anymore you can just put it in a plastic bag, you would have to free it from dust when you pick it up again tho.
Same with the monitor, a plastic bag is sufficient, I'd be more worried about the means of transportation.

As long as it's indoors just toss it in a closet.
If you are going to put it in a plastic bag to cut down on any dust etc make dead sure you put a silica gel packet or something in there to make sure you don't lock moisture in it.

I'd just leave it in its case, if I was really worried I might put a sheet over it, that way protected from dust but breathable so no moisture.

I'm with the wrapping it in a sheet method. Stored a lot of electronics in a storage unit this way for over a year, and all came out just as good as the day I put them in there.

I am going to disable the power button by unplugging it from the board just to be sure no one decides to try and play with it.

Monitors should be facing the wall. That way, the screen is facing the wall, so if anyone or anything happens to bump into them, the screen won't get jacked up.

Any kind of Desiccant or Silica Gel is much needed, it's also a no brainer as these are dirt cheap:
