Video converter built into windows 7? How? I have W7 pro, and never seen or heard of it. If someone could enlighten me, that would be awesome.

I could be wrong but maybe they are referring to Windows DVD Maker??? That would seem plausible as it does need to transcode video to make the DVDs. I have yet to see a standalone video encoder in which you can select any type of output format.

If it really IS the built in dvd maker then THANK GOD! I use it all the time and its so damn slow. (And yes, i am indeed aware of alternatives, and i use them from time to time, but the one built into vista and 7 is dead easy to use).

I was led to believe it is used when you copy a video onto a portable device which can play the video back - depending on what the device can output resolution wise windows will automatically convert the file to the native resolution of the device to save on space (or will give options on what to down-convert the video to). I thought it was an automatic thing if the device was correctly installed onto the machine so it knew the capabilities of the device.

this driver does *not* solve my crossfire related flickering, despite what the changelog states.

I think it's also worth pointing out that, despite long-standing GPU support, 9.10 is the first official Windows 7 chipset driver from AMD. My mobo will be most pleased...

Video fullscreen hang issue for me. Had to use CTRL+ALT+DEL to exit a fullscreen video on Win 7, hasn't happened since early drivers. Video worked good, and the system was still responsive, but had to end iexplorer to get back to desktop.

Doesn't seem to be any acceleration on Windows DVD Maker from what I can see. Just fired it up and GPU activity is sitting at 0% while encoding. I have crossfired 4870's if that makes a difference but I checked both cards and they are both at zero utilization.

I'd like to see what effect this WHQL has done for the 5XXX series cards as theoretically their newer cards should benefit greatly from driver updates.

when i installed the drivers, in custom install it had already chosen something called "amd drag and drop encoder for windows 7" (i cant remember the exact name, but it was along those lines). And i have no idea how to use it, and ive looked all over for it. Very odd....
