Danamics Intros LMX Liquid Metal CPU Cooler
Close to an year after Danamics released its so-perceived revolutionary LM10 liquid-metal CPU cooler, which was shelved a mere two months after its launch, the company is back with its successor. The new Danamics LMX looks bigger, meaner, and more compatible. The principle involves circulating liquid metal through heatpipes in an aluminum fin array. The liquid metal is circulated using an electromagnetic pump, though the unit has a shielded magnetic field that does not interfere with components outside it. The flowing liquid metal disperses heat to parts of the cooler better, resulting in higher cooling performance compared to other forms of air-cooling.
The unit measures 158.2×170.5×90 mm, weighing 1180 g. The heatsink fins are made of nickel-plated aluminum. Two 120 mm fans strapped on to either sides, are made by SilenX. This completely monolithic cooler has snap-on assembly, meaning it's as easy to install as almost any other air-cooler. It supports Intel sockets LGA-1366, LGA-775, and AMD AM3/AM2(+). It is priced at 159 EUR, significantly lower than its predecessor which went for 280 EUR. A flash animation of how the cooler works, among other details, can be accessed here.

I don't see this working any better than it's predessesor. It's still too expensive. I'm sure the liquid metal does a great job at absorbing heat, but I don't see how a couple fans can dissapate the heat fast enough.

Dear W1zz....
PLZ sort us a review? - I never saw any real benchmarks on the previous model, and am VERY intrigued by this liquid metal tech. There have been MANY promises, and i cant wait to see some proof from all this pudding ![]() Regards

Ron Jeremy FTW!
Still a tad high but lower in price. Yeah a review would be nice.

Lack of 1156 support - Check
Ungodly Weight - Check Ungodly Price - Check A + B + C = FAIL

If you check the site, the actual socket compability animation does list support for 1156, but the text doesnt. So it may actually support 1156, nice marketing fail.

Negatory. The picture you see appears to have a small yellow dwarf star photoshopped in where there ought to be, I dunno, a freaking ball bearing or something.
p.s. These guys are full of it. If this stuff is worth its weight, I want to see Cooler Master bring it to the masses. |

For computer chip coolers, heat pipes are superior in every way I can think of.

Not having my hopes up this time after the first dud, but that one sure looks much better. Now it's a retail product instead of the first engineering sample that should have never seen release. Will be lining up for the review, that they'll surely tease for days again.
Anyhow, that's one awesome fan mount system, you'll get the fan out even on thigh spots and it doesn't matter in which order you mount them.

Seems it performs pretty well, but for the price you could get a pretty freaken amazing WC setup.
Hell even an average WC setup would smash it still. Good if your rich and paranoid about water I guess!
