8 pin power extension cable

I just started revising the cable management on my i7 build and no matter how hard I yank, pull, and tug on the 8 pin power cable I'm short .5-1 inch from routing it through the back of the case.

I have the damn cable running smack across the middle of the case right now. It's hideous! HIDEOUS! I guess it's thanks to the Gene II's weird layout... regardless, I'm hoping to pick one up here for relatively cheap, or cheaper than Newegg. Honestly, shipping is more than the damn cable!

Would that offer the same kind of power as a straight 8-pin? I know that you get the power to OC your cpu with the 8-pin, idk if that would inhibit a good OC or what. I've also tried looking for an extension before, although it's not imperative that I get one.
