Cooler Master Revises Hyper TX3 and Hyper 212 CPU Coolers

In response to feedback, Cooler Master issued revisions of its Hyper TX3 and Hyper 212 CPU coolers. The new G1 revisions of the two, can be identified by new model numbers RR-910-HTX3-G1 (for Hyper TX3) and RR-B10-212P-G1 (for Hyper 212), and maintain the same prices of their predecessors, US $29.99 and $19.99, respectively. Changes include redesigned CPU contact bases, and a more end-user friendly fan-retention mechanism.

With CPU contact base on which copper heatpipes make direct contact with the CPU, the channels that hold thermal paste have been removed (small gaps created between the CPU and the heatpipes because the heatpipes are nested too deep into the rest of the base). This ensures that improperly applied thermal paste doesn't excessively accumulate there, insulating rather than conducting heat.

The fan-retention mechanism has been modified to be more user-friendly. redesigned the entire heatsink array to be able to use our standard plastic snap on fan clips. While installing a fan now will require a screwdriver, the process will be more straight forward to end users and easier for them to understand. Brackets will now be included to mount two fans, although the company will include one Blademaster fan in the package. The new revisions are said to be available now, worldwide.

Note: the first pic likely shows an "after-before" picture, rather than "before-after". That's the way CM sent it.

Now they just need to revise the Hyper Z600R like this. That would just be SICK!

Some companies even listen before a product is released - but that's rare.

Weird, in the first pic, I see gaps with both.

Looks better than before. Thanks for the clear up BTA, was gonna say it doesn't look better but worse. What would be better is if they could find a way to fill the gaps still there with the base and heatpipes. Perhaps solder or fill it in with copper or something. Looks a lot better now though. Reviews?

Its nice to see that Cooler Master cares for people who are buying the $19.99 and $29.99 coolers. Most other companies just shovel the budget coolers to the market and focus on higher end coolers. It is expensive to invest in tools to produce new product revisions and I am glad that it was done right.

Right now my Hyper 212+ (IMHO) is the best 1156 cooler for its money, having a flatter contact base will make it even better.
