OK.. I took out the battery.. for about 45 minutes.. put it back in.. connected cables into CD/DVD drive and Hard drive.. Then started it.. This time.. it didn't beep, but it didn't start either.. Now I get a screen that looks like this:-

http://www.users.on.net/~kymsclan/hubbysScreen.jpg

No beeps.. No xp.. beginning to think this house is jinxed.. when I took a photo of the screen, my camera has a blobby mark on the screen.. not on the photo.. just the screen.. where did that come from..? who knows..wasn't there when I took the photo of the mobo for my other thread and that was only a few hours or so ago..

Appreciate all the help with this problem.

Please don't kill me lol..

After going back to the computer.. Wondering why press F1 to continue or del to enter cmos didn't work.. pushing the keys .. over and over.. getting more and more frustrated..

Well.. there were 2 keyboards on the kitchen table and I had the wrong one plugged in.. How was I to know.. ?? Both of the ends were purple.. Auggggghhhhh

Suffice to say the computer is now functioning, cleaned, back together AND I cheated..

I went up to my office and said to my husband.. if I get your computer working will you do something for me.. He says .. yeah what? I say.. ok.. 1. You have to cook me a really nice Dinner AND 2. You have to get the computer off the kitchen table tonight.. He agrees and I make him pinky swear and he does (ain't he sweet) and then I say.. (like a woman does )

Oh, well I have fixed it and now I just have to clean the bits and screw the sides back on.. !! LOL..

So.. he is now cooking me dinner...Swedish recipe no less.. I have pulled it apart again, cleaned the parts, put it all back.. now it is airing and I am going to put the sides on

AND touch wood....

YOU WONT HAVE TO LOOK AT THIS THREAD ANYMORE!!! (A little ecstatic lol)

Thank you to all of you that have put up with me, not given up on helping and given so much helpful advice..

I brag about this forum to my family and friends.. I no longer take credit for fixing computers.. I'm afraid it all goes to the peeps in this forum.
