DX11 games compatible with Vista?

Can anyone confirm if it's true via a patch? Fully compatible with Vista also?

All you need to do is install the latest DirectX redistribution. Vista fully supports DX11 after updating.

LOL exactly..

And sorry but wow, right after remembering that I went to run updates and forgot I'm running windows 7....
It wouldn't surprise me if some of them will even run on Xp.

Oh I thought it was a specific file that needed to be installed. I didn't realise it was the DirectX redistribution. Where is this file?

You need the "platform update" as well as the August DX redist, which is now on Windows Update

the "true" DX11 update for vista will roll out soon enough legitimately anyway.

at the moment (last i checked, a month or so ago) you need a manual install of a windows update (the platform update, i dont know where to find it) and the latest directX redist available here or here

ATi\AMD
currently available(will be shipped the week you ordered )
HD 5870
HD 5850
HD 5770
HD 5750
HD 5970(dual 5870 with 5850 clocks)

listed in Catalist 9.12 beta (theoretically these will be available by Christmas)
HD 5670
HD 5650
HD 5950
and RV810 based cards

nVidia(i don't thing we'll be seeing these till at least mid January)
GF100
GT300
GT300GL

The HD4870 like all HD3xx0/4xx0 cards is DirectX 10.1 which is still better than 10.0(it has less features disabled and slightly more fps)

as long as you have a DX10 card you should be in the safe zone, DX11 adds features to DX10 cards

but if you have a DX9 card . . . . then . . . . . lol
