What causes this? (purple colors in L4D2)

Usually this happens when a texture, somewhere, has gone missing. The "default" texture is purple and black checkers, which sometimes reflects on any surface with high enough reflection.
I've seen this happen too many times on garry's mod...

yeah i did Alt tab and it appeared when I returned to the game.

thats quite normal with valve games,like everyone said its texture error.
Just close the game and it be gone.
