I beg to differ. I think it runs more favorably on ATI cards.

I don't think so. ATI runs the program better, and I am sure there is no vendor based optimisation, ATI hardware is just efficient enough...

You have to remeber the core of the HD 5770 is at lease as fast as a HD 4890
As long as Furmark is not being bottlenecked by the bandwidth, there is no reason the HD 5770 can't win.
Especially when you are running Furmark @1280*1024.

I did a bench run between 5770 & 4890, and 4890 wins in most races....even when the 5770 were clocked (925, 5200) from stock (850, 4800).

If your still using the big side fan, maybe worth a try of some 38mm high pressure fans on voltage control. Those SanAce 1101 and Kaza 3000 of mine put a lot of pressure out at low speed, and can do cold "spot" cooling.[and quiet also]

Heck I dont even have any attached to the Ninja Fins

If'n I read your spec's correct, remove the big 200 side[widow] fan and you can mount up to 4 fans there, or use some imagination with plastic coated wire ties to sit on the power supply or "hang" somewhere to force the air "into/around the cards. Any way to relocate the pump assy, to blow towards the rear vents?

Just a few thoughts to toss out there. I've been down that road many times since mine sits inside a cherry desk. Sometines not the most pretty, but gotta do what ever I can to get the temps controlled.

It seem's that i'm already off to some bummpy start, had 3 "W"hite SOD freezes, but the stock fan is sitting on 21%. Had 1 playing DIRT2[stock] and came home after work and was froze up again. Going to have GPU/Afterburner monitor for a while to see any temp rises.

Set a profile w/AB so mabey it was just a stock 9.11 driver fluke not ramping up the fan.

EDIT I'm still studying your pic[BTW very nice setup] think'n mabey a 40x38 server fan sitting/wedged on the back of that "shell" blowing to the rear of case

I wouldnt worry about what this bench says. I mainly like this bench because it is quick and it can show 2 things that I want to know.. load temp and performance relative to another persons setup.

Have you tried with the 9800gt uninstalled?
