Like Dan said, report the posts of him "harassing" you or posts that you feel aren't right.
Don't forget, Mods have lives as well as you and can't be on call 24/7. If they don't respond right away,
give it time. Just take it easy and if something comes across that you don't like, report it.
If anyone says "You're an idiot" in a post, don't worry too much as the mods definitely won't ban someone
over that.

1. This thread isn't meant for your problems with another member. Report any posts you find go against the forum guidelines.

2. You can use your creativity in the report text box, not in this thread.

3. Don't expect the mods to respond to such reports with 911 urgency.

4. If no action is taken after a while, it's more likely that action was taken covertly / course of action is being dicussed internally / action wasn't necessary, than the report being completely ignored by the mod team.

5. Life isn't always fair, boohoo.

Ok Bo_Fox. Listen to me very carefully. The mods here are fair. Established members have reputations with the mods. Some members are liked and some are hated but I have never seen a mod take that into account here. They seem to look at each situation individually and disregard who is involved. If you reported a post it was seen and dealt with. I assure you. Ill give you some examples.

Erocker I think of as a friend here. He's helped me out a ton of times. However hes also given me the most infractions. Why? Because like I said they do not play favorites.

Another example would be Bta. When he first signed up as a regular member him and I clashed do to many reasons. Now hes mod you would think my life would be hell. But its not. Him and I PM each other and talk about off forum topics sometimes. Now I also think of him as a friend.

Dan is a brutal dictator that will have your first born for breakfast if you piss him off. He will trash you and kick you while your down. But you know what? He does it with love. His assholeness has an ability to put things into perspective for some members. I used to be offended by him. I even got banned by him a few times but now I listen to him. Why? Everything he says has a point. Its just if your a pussy you'll miss out on he's trying to help you.

Mussels rapes newborn bunnies. Watch out for him.

My point to all this is listen to the mods and never wear bunny ears.

How are you doing? In response to your respectful OP above about taking the integrity of TPU forums "very seriously":


Please allow me to finish the issue with trying to confirm whether or not this AF issue in the thread http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=106814 is a serious issue in many games that still has not yet been fixed with the latest drivers. Several indications suggest that ATI's new perfectly circular AF method has extreme trilinear optimizations in use.

I know that you are a busy person, but could I ask you for just one favor, to let me open a new thread on this issue, and let me continue my efforts in good faith (as long as Steevo could be kept out of that thread)?

I try not to break the rules, and to be sincere about the topic, and will try much harder from now and on. I think that I did pretty good by not following Steevo as an example most of the time, by the way.

Hopefully the fruition of this thread will be a very good thing for TPU, with the ultimate result that we all bring this to public attention and hopefully get ATI to give us an option to force full trilinear with AF.

Some of their posts in that thread were quite frankly, insincere and erroneous just for the sake of giving me a hard time. One poster that seems to be doing some harm to the forums with excessive insincerity is Steevo -- a couple guys PM'ed me about Steevo being such an annoyance. One guy said that he actually stopped folding for TPU all because of Steevo. I could tell you who he is, if you want to ask him about it. Hope this helps, respectfully. Hope the drama was not too much.. I'm trying hard, and will try harder to make peace with everybody (after recently adding Steevo to the ignore list).

It will also prevent me from wasting my time there, which is unappreciated anyways. Bo_Fox, I don't want to get into any issue but please don't take online 'life' so seriously. I mean, it isn't nice to feel offended and unliked whenever someone posts disagreeing with you. You shouldn't feel offended and hated just because of that. You know, sometimes I say stupid things and people laugh at me, I end up laughing too. Sometimes I get certain comments because of being a girl, well I smile and sometimes play along. What springs to my mind is once a certain member (who's now quite a good friend) posted a picture directed at me saying that women's place is not in front of a pc but in the kitchen. It made me laugh... but it could also be seen as sexist, offensive and degrading?
But come on it's just playing around, sometimes people post to get a reaction, sometimes people think they are funny, or that they are helping others by teaching them yet almost every funny comment can be construed as the poster picking on you, and almost every 'teaching' comment can be construed as being a condescending know-it-all. But why the bother of interpreting them as such? Go for the half-full glass man, not for the half-empty one!

Lol I remember not long ago I got so really worked up into posting trying to see if the 5970 would fit in my case that someone replied to me telling me to go and buy a console!
I did feel a bit hurt at first... then I re-read all the posts I made in that thread and saw that were I to continue like that I'd be doing the whole of TPU a favour if I sold my pc and bought a console! What i dont understand (and im not agreeing i dont have an issue with staff really) is that their seems to be a double edged sword. The OP stated their was reports of staff problems. however i see a couple things wrong here.

A. We were told voice our opinions.
So we voice our opinions and get infracted for sating names

B. we dont state names but then the staff demands examples or it didnt happen.
we give examples and get called trolls (point A)

the poster makes a post like this stating the paradox of points A and B and mods come back with if their is a problem PM them.

the PM response confuses me because wasnt the whole point to shed light on the problems? I mean unfair staff is still unfair staff even through PM right?

not really targeting anyone just kinda playing devils advocate

+1. I used to disagree with most of the mods here, Dan in particular. Now, I really like the guy, he is cool in an asshat sort of way. Sometimes shit just happens here, but the mods usually try and fix it.

Well the FS/WTB section is very strict, which is good for buyer/seller protection. Everybody will get reminded immediately by anyone (not just moderators) if they're not following the rules.

I see where your coming from here but there are "ways" to handle things without naming names or pointing out other peoples mistakes. I do it all the time and get my point across. If people listen then great. If not then I move on.

A while back I got an infraction from Erocker. I didnt think it was fair so I took it up with a senior mod. (Polaris) He looked at the situation and the infraction was made into a warning instead. Honestly infractions do not bother me. I know when one is coming but if I didnt "earn" it Ill take it up with the powers that be. Ill never air out my issues directly as some have started to do here.

I cannot keep track of everything. If one of you has a specific complaint about a staff member then you need to send a senior moderator or Urlyin a PM when it happens not stew on it for days and then pile it all on when you notice someone else complaining. This makes my job much easier and it makes it much more likely that I can/will do something. I guarantee I am not gong to read multiple 20 page threads this afternoon sifting through for insults or unprofessional behavior by staff and members.

There are different levels of staff for a reason. It is my responsibility to oversee the actions of the moderators as wells as the members.

Lol thanks MRCL. I understand them being strict. I don't consider this being a big deal, but just saw this thread and figured if the admins want to know what makes TPU's members happy vs not so happy, I might as well contribute for the sake of making the forums better.

I too have clashed with mods of the vagueness and "case by case" discretion they used to employ there, but I finally learned not to take it personally and conform to the thread.

Serious questions. You weren't pleased that I made the rules more clear just for you? Or do you feel that I should of just deleted your thread like everyone else and kept my mouth shut? How do you think I should of dealt with the situation?

I realize that I can come off harsh towards some members at times, but I assure you all it's never done out of anger or annoyance. Most of the time in those instances I may be busy so I just get to the point. I can confidently aknowledge that I'm not the same moderator I was when I initally started moderating. We all need critizism, and any input anyone can give me is always appreciated.
