BF 1942 Windowed Mode

Well been trying to figure this out, the highest in game res is 1600x1200, and my monitor is 1920x1200. So the vertical is perfect, if I change Fullscreen to 0 it should look just fine on my screen. But when I do that, it makes the 1942 window tiny, and I can't figure out why, any ideas here?

You should be able to force the resolution... add +szx 1920 +szy 1200 to the command line

Considering how old the game is and the fact that EA is a PITA when it comes to large resolution screens, there is no guarantee the game is going to support Resolutions higher than 1280x1024 Without Heavy Modification to game code (graphics/resolution)

I don't want to stretch the 4:3 to 16:10. I'm already doing that, but I'll try changing the 1920 to 1600 and see how that works.

As I said in the original post, it supports up to 1600x1200. And my monitor is 1200 vertical pixels, I just want to run it in 4:3 so it doesn't stretch the crap out of everything horizontally.

all i can say is run it at the Resolution that wont distort it but also keep it clear.

Thats none, my monitor is 16:10 and the game only supports 4:3 so no matter what I choose it stretches everything a lot wider than it should be. Windows mode would fix that.

because it likely wont fit, you're forgetting the extra height needed for hte start menu and border of the window.

try 1280x1024 instead.

I'll give that a shot, I think they have like a 1440x1052 or something crazy.

**EDIT**
Tested other resolutions, it doesn't change the size of my game window at all.

Well 1280x1024 is a 16:10 Aspect Ratio Resolution followed by 1920x1200 then 2560x1600 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_common_resolutions. TBH with you 5:4, 16:10 aspect ratios don't look distorted at all while 4:3 and 16:9 do, The other thing i don't understand is that we have 16:9 TVs yet DVDs still display lame ass letterbox bars.

The problem is, is the game doesn't have a windowed mode option. So I have to alter a text file to make it go into windows mode. Which makes the window too small, using that method would then just stretch the window back to the same size as running the game normally. I'm just thinking there isn't a way to make this work. I have to go down to almost 800x600 to make the 1600x1200 window fit on my screen, which makes no sense.

You need to actually start the game (not be in the menu) to notice the difference.
