How to downgrade Win7 pro to WinXP

I have bought Windows 7 pro edition which is downgradable. The question is how to downgrade ?
After the downgrade what is going to be the s/n of the XP is it going to be the same S/N of the Windows 7 pro that I have downgraded ?
And is it possible to install Windows XP with the Windows 7 pro serial number ?
And if I want to end up with XP downgrade is it the only way ?

Why would you want to? 7 is awesome. xp is just so old, i understand if you had a ancient machine, but your sig rig is good.

Not being sarcastic, but did you try googling?

Guess what i did call microsoft support phone number. And they ask me to send photo of the sticker. And they told me to install Windows XP first than to call them. I told them that I don`t own windows xp that that is the whole point of buying windows 7 pro and wanting to downgrade.
Why would I buy and try to downgrade to Win XP if I allready had one.

Why on Earth would you want to downgrade from Win7 to WinXP !? Win7 is just as fast if not faster on same hardware, looks better, has better features and is far more secure and up to date.
I'd use Win7 on my netbook (i'm already using it on PC) if the wireless wasn't falling down randomly.
Win7 just rocks and i totally like it.

Old, and "stable"..
Good luck with games on windows 7.
More of them don't work than ones that work.
I can only imagine what other software problems are coming to the surface.
Me I'll stay with XP til XP stops working.

Why, because I know it works..lol..
I went through the vista craze.
I'm not going through the 7 craze.
I learned my lesson.

All my games work fine under win 7, hey arent you one of those win 98 > XP I love 98 I'll stay with 98 til it stops working?

Seriousley dont bash it cause you didnt like vista, and if you havent even got it, its just as fast as XP and more stable imo I havent had one BSOD had a couple freezes, tho they were more to do ith a ever so slightly unstable OC than anything.

That said there are SOME games that dont work with 7, I know the NFS series is one of them, but I could care less about NFS anyway, all the games I have tried thus far run, and work well

It is funny how easy can a thread go off topic .
I bet that if some one start a thread "World Peace" in the end it would became ATI vs NVIDIA or INTEL vs AMD or both .

I have to say, better XP than Win 7 Starter. Problem is, W7S doesnt include downgrade rights. Full W7 is quite OK though. No complaints.

Also, if you have multiple machines already running XP in a business environment, better one more XP than have one or two W7 systems causing additional administrative overhead.

I took W7 and put it into classic desktop mode. Compared to XP, I didnt find it more productive, or nicer, or faster. In full graphics mode, it surely lookie goodie.

So horses for courses. Not everyone will see value in upgrading to W7.
