Sounds crap to me.

Bam, same timings doin 2400 and prolly about 400 bucks less.

They got 2000s runnin 6's.

I like Corsair and all, but these Dominators are all Hype. The GTXs i mean. G.Skill has them beat in this department. Remember, i could care less about XMP.

If i was a betting man, i bet you could run the 2300s at the same timings at 2400mhz. That has these currently beat. Thats 8-11-8-28.

I didn't say anything about price, or their value. I said that CAS9 @ 2400 Mhz is not crap timings.

9-11 at 2400. And again, I'm not referring to price, I'm referring only to their timings. CAS 9 at 2400 is good timings. Price was never part of the discussion. CAS 11 or 12 would be crappy timings at that speed.

Your missing my point.

Its Corsair, Its Dominator DTXamillion, its spicey red and black heatsinks to match your just as exspensive Classified, i expect more than a company thats already released such a product with less R&D to jingle in their pocket.

Well, all those boutique ram packaging companies bought generic memory module in bulks.

Then the process of binning and hand picked started, theres where most of the cost based upon. I remember those 2x1gb Corsair PC6400 C3-3-3 $400 not long ago.

this is sort of a stupid question, but what does memory speed and timing do to the overall performance?

giving you can afford these sticks, then you have an i7 920 ATLEAST.

The key problem is "higher voltage" escecially as in the i5-i7 procs where the memory controler was moved onto the chip itself, lower voltage is always better, also just because you could use a 1333 kit that high doesn't mean you should or more over that it's meant to and that it will have reliability of any kind.

That's personal bias not personal preference. Expensive or not that's not a valid point to be making in a debate about timings. I think it's you who is missing the point.

He meant bad timings for the hype the RAM is getting, you would have expected a tad better

These are certified timings though. I'd expect there would be some conservatism in their set up, leaving room for even better performance with OC. Yes they will probably be expensive but these might be well bin sorted chips. We cant say how good they really are until someone tries them out.

There's no hype, It IS the best memory atm, tested and confirmed by verifiers. And because it is the best, they can sell it for 1k-2k-3k which ever prices they find reasonable.

Just like Intel or AMD.

XMP = stupid, sorry. Just means that it will boot up by selecting XMP.

These arent the best, they are the second ones to release ram like this. G.Skill has 2400s out with the same timings just not XMP certified. Most that OC dont care about such silly nonsense.

You just can't say you are the best when none verified it. Obviously.
