Experienced my first "car accident" today. Luckily do damage to car or myself.

I was driving on the completely with snow and ice covered roads, and I took a turn a little too fast. So I was drifting beautifully through that turn, but when trying to level out, I overcorrected, which eventually catapulted my car in some snow banks at the shoulder of the road. I could free myself easily, and luckily no other cars were around. I skipped a heartbeat tho.

Back home from work. I noticed the additional oil temp indicator on my car is broken, which is a pain because I need to monitor the temps so I don't fire up the turbo while the oil is still cold. On my drive to work its not really a problem because I know my location where the oil has reached suitable temps, but for other routes its a problem.

Also I have decieded on a complete spending stop. That means no more PC parts, no more goodies, only the basics (food, gas and cigs lol). Because I'm moving later this year and I want a newer model of my car (one with ESP if these winters continue).

Moving will set me back approx 10k (first two or three loans have to be paid in advance, and all the furniture and stuff one needs), and a new car would be about 30 to 40k. I'll sell my current Subaru then, but still its gonna be tough. I need to make a money plan of some sort, monitoring every single thing I spend money on even if its just some chewing gum.

My pc is running seriously cool to be honest, my motherboard is 19, cpu core 1 is also 19 core 2 is 21, HDD is 20 and my GPU is 55... bare in mind my average temp overall is between 6 & 8 degree's more on a "average day" as for my PSU i have no clue, but it's barely kicking out any heat!!

Just to another canton (state). Closer to work, I'm sick of driving two hours a day.

If you let your car warm up before you drive it, your oil temps are fine. As long as the car is at operating temp, the oil is not too cold for the turbo.

Now, what you need to do is get a turbo timer, so that after driving, your car can idle for a few minutes after you remove the key to bring the oil temps back down.

Cool oil is not the enemy, hot oil is.
