Which phone should I get as an upgrade?

I have an AT&T Moto Q9h currently, and it's pretty beat up. I have an upgrade available, and have narrowed my choices down to the Blackberry Bold 9700 or the iPhone 3gs 16gb. My dillema is that I can't decide which phone to get. I do a lot of texting, and have email sent to my phone since I don't always have a computer available. I also do a lot of web browsing and searches, and do download content and media. I also use gps on my phone. I also sometimes tether my phone to my laptop for on the go access. With my Moto Q9h, it's simple and just use Pdanet, so which would be better and easiest for occaisional tethering? Another issue is, big hands.. the keys on both the Blackberry, and the iPhone are small, and yes I know the difference is one is a touchscreen and the other is qwerty. So now I leave this open for suggestions and comments asap and welcomed. Thank you all!

Is there a particular reason you ruled out the HTC Tilt 2? I think that you would be better off sticking to either a WinMo device (like the Q9h) or a BB, the change to an iPhone is drastic and you may not be happy- its almost like apples to oranges. Have you got a chance to get hands on with the iPhone?

Depends on if you want a qwerty kb or touch screen one i have a 3GS and can do everything that you menchined it renders websites nice but it doesnt support flash. I also found it so easy to use much easier than previous phones ive used. One thing though with the iphone is bt is only present properly after jailbreaking. Also you might want to look at Andriod phones like the Nexus one or the HTC Hero.

Yes I have played around with the iPhone a little bit. A lot of people I work with have them and let me play around with the phone a little. As for the HTC, I don't really like the sliding/ flip Sidekick style or a horizontel handheld keybaord, the bar type seams to be more comforable and natural to me. Although I do like the look of the Windows Mobile 6.5 platform, and the phone is visually appealing. I want an HD screen. Also, isn't the iPhone as well as the blackberry faster in terms of a processor and onboard RAM?

considered switching to Sprint or Verizon and get a Palm Pre or Pixi? I have the Pixi and I have to tell you, its an awesome marriage of work and play.

no switching for me. I have a family plan, and also get a corporate discount with AT&T.

as addressed and argued in our generalnonsence.net articles about phones, my real concertn is with the touchscreen and as stated, big hands. Also as shared by some, is surviving trips to the range, and the work environment. I tend to take care of my phones unless unforseen circumstances occur like "Acts of God and nature"

Not sure about overall speed but all apps and pages seem to load briskly and the S in 3GS is for speed.

Agreed, if you can't get an Android phone, or WebOS phone, and you are looking to get into the smart phone market, go with the IPhone. Once you Jailbreak it, you get the full functionality that it was meant to have and plenty of apps for work and play for free.

As for Blackberry, I'm in no way knocking the company as they make good phones but every BB phone I've ever used, the OS seems really bloated and out of date. Even the Storm felt a little clunky (both software and general hardware feel for that matter).
