Just keep an eye on the for sale, trade or give away section of the site. http://forums.techpowerup.com/forumdisplay.php?f=43 Lots of stuff in and out all the time.

I would be looking for e8400 type Setups.. People keep parting out there old rigs every day on this board, and a P5 based rig is the logical next step.
You might could go for a new AMD based rig if you could expand your budget a bit...

And you could use your old HD/Case/PSU for the time being and slowley upgrade them later?
Ehh actually you'd have to find a different mobo/Ram now that I think about it...So the decision would be going AM3 and paying more for a board and Ram, or staying AM2+ and getting a slightly slower CPU with cheaper Ram/Motherboards.

I may have a complete system up for sale in the next couple of weeks. It would be:
DFI LP DK 790FXB-M2RSH AM2+ NewEgg. AMD Athlon II X2 240 Regor 2.8GHz NewEgg BFG 9800GTX OC2 with an Accelero triple fan cooler 4gb GSkill DDR2 800 Western Digital 250gb 7200rpm 16mb buffer Asus DVD burner Dual Layer SATA All in a NZXT Tempest case seen HERE I may be willing to ship this sooner, providing you would really need it :-) I would do probably right at your $400 budget shipped to you. It would ship UPS ground. About the only other thing would be for you to add the little bit extra to pay for the insurance. I would not ship this system without insurance for obvious reasons lol. PM me if your interested in this. I have played Crysis, Battlefield, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Grid, Oblivion, FarCry 2, and many more at virtually maxed out settings.

You can drop the gfx for now if the budget is to much (it has some rebates to help lower cost). The onboard will get you by until you get one.

![]() I did, however, forget to mention that it will have a Hiper 880 watt triple rail power supply as well. I don't know why I forgot to put that in my post ![]() ![]()
