I can't decide? Help... hehehe

Hey guys I need some help deciding on either upgrading my CPU(1366), Motherboard, Ram or getting 1 or 2 5870 and puting them in CF?.. My current system is in my system spec's (If i go CF I have a P5Q-Pro P45 for MB). I really want both, but I have to choose..

I hate to spend the money on a new MB and SATA 3 and USB 3 almost here... I know Gigabyte and Asus have boards out, but they aren't on the SB. They are still using Intel ICH10R.

I guess the big question is do you guys think my Q9550 @ 3.6GHz or pushing it to 3.8GHz combined with my P5Q-Pro will be a big bottleneck for two 5870 in CF? and will my Corsair 750Tx power everything?.. hehehe Thanks!

Well, for crunching you can't beat the i7 platform. The 5870's are great cards, but you may be better off buying them in a few months when prices get come down a bit more.

True, or maybe getting one now and one down the road? If i go that route then i'll be getting an i7 with in the next 2 months. I just hate to spend over 3 hundred on a MB and replace it a few months down the road. You know? or do you even think intel will put out the new SB in the next 3 months?

Wait for the product and technologies to mature if you can.

Probably not. Thing is, If we always wait for these small improvements we will never buy new stuff. I really do not think that USB 3 and Sata 3 are going to be earth shattering enough to wait. I'd switch palatforms, and maybe buy one 5850 or 5870, then get another card a few months down the road.
