Okay scratch that, after doing some research they all have 43mm mounting holes.
Really disappointed now and have a card I DO not want. Anyknow of any after market cooling I can get?

That's the one! Other coolers will work, but reuire major modding. I think there's a Thermalright one that works too tho.

Thanks man, I meant decent aftermarket cooling though. WOOO! How ever linking me to artic cooling reminded me their twin turbos have two mounting positions, and they will fit! http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalo...ath=2_&mID=101 Not listed but never mind they'll fit HUZZAH!

You'd better make SURE it fits, amigo. The problem with aftermarket cooling in the 5770 is not the hole spread/size, it's the distance of the GPU chip to the back of the case/end of the card.

You have to trim a few of the fins on the Twin Turbo to get it to clear the DVI connectors on a 5850. Since the 5770 pcb is shorter you could run in to real problems of just getting the cooler to fit the card.

How long have the 5770 been around? Someone is bound to release a cooler for it sooner or later..

Why not the L2?
http://ht4u.net/reviews/2009/amd_rad...ets_ac_l2_pro/ Anyway, found this over on SPCR. I guess it works but it takes some "customization" to fit. http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums...355&highlight=

Why not the l2? Because I don't want to spend that money on such a small difference. Especially when I already have a very good GPU cooler, i'd rather just get a different graphics card. Cheap and nasty thing to be honest this 5770, should of bought a 58 or kept my 4850. Teach me for buying mid range

Honestly, one might not need an aftermarket cooler on the 5770 (so long as it has a reference cooler), and i've found a few reports of the 5770 getting 1000mhz gpu and 1400+ for memory when using the cooler.

Im not real impressed with the temps of the 5750/5770 s either, they are ok but mid 40C range is so so...(the cards are power houses so maybe thats why the temps are higher) Pretty sure the 5850/5870s are even warmer than the 5770/50 cards..

Anything over 65c don't fly with me. And since its already at 65 that's zero overclocking headroom for me. My 4850 with a passive Trad2 with maxed out overclock had lower temps then my 5770 : /

I was gonna get the 5830 but the price is retarded (as well as the cards are as long as the 5870s)
If I cant get the 5850 Openbox than my next choice is the 5770/50 Vapor X or MSI Hawk (the Asus CU one looks good too) Just waiting for lower $ If you want lower temps sell ur card and pick up one of those..

oh yeah man. :-p Gotta love that little "egg" cooler.
Btw- remove the shroud on them egg coolers... it dropped temps for me by 2-3C (idle) and 4-5C load. It was replaced by the CuCore edition. So idk... |
