MSI presents their AMD 8 Series chipset lineup, including Lucid Hydra
The clear highlight here seems to be the MSI 870A-GD60 Hydra. It comes with Lucid Logix's prominent Hydra feature, using a different chip than on the Big Bang Fuzion by the way. It promises to let you combine GPUs from NVIDIA and ATI in a CrossFire/SLI like fashion for increased performance. Even though it does not deliver the most amazing scaling numbers just yet we are told that the driver "improves weekly".

Ranging all the way from price conscious overclocker to budget office users who wants to build an affordable rig without breaking the bank. ![]() MSI 890FXA-GD70 ![]() MSI 890GXM-G65 ![]() MSI 880GMA-E45 ![]() MSI 870A-GD60 ![]() MSI 870A-G54 |

MSI is getting close to the perfect board layout with those 870s.

Huh, now this IS a surprise since I would not have figured on Asus jumping on the Hydra bandwagon. Still, there is some concern that NVIDIA could do something to disrupt or kill the chip.

lucida hydra? didnt we already establish there really is no need for it? and the performance is meh at best and only like 4 games even support it? waste of resources and msi is going to take a major hit in this investment

Hmm, nice collection of boards. Not sure about the Asus thing, may have been a mistake.
I would hope that hydra technology really fleshes out, I would try a board with it.
