Not easy to sum up further. Let's see.

The thing is that Infinity Ward offices have been locked down and the 2 heads have been accused by Activision of breach of contract and insubordination, apparently because they were in talks with another publisher. The problem is:

- Activision doesn't fully own IW, so the validity of the accusations is in the air.

- IW has not seen any royalties for their MW2 game.

- The contract between Activision and IW ends in october and Activision has been looking for a studio to replace IW in the making of the COD franchise.

EDIT: Apart from the obvious, I personally find this very similar to what happened between 2K and 3DRealms with the Duke Nukem franchise.

Figures. SEC should freeze Activision/Blizzards assets until the problem can be resolved. I feel that the 2 that were fired have a case and they know it. They would have said something big if that wasn't the case.

I didn't saw as much slack and bad about MW2 , the whole PC communities are against IW/ATVI , now WHO Is the REAL dick in those two , is really unknown , but many point the publisher , i agree.

I think , no dedicated servers was ATVI fiasco , why would IW go from such great games to something totally fucked up , it's not DSs only , it's all the bad console code , basically it is CONSOLE RIP. So for them to be COOL , they know they MW2 is the best console game , and consoles don't need more , but they left PC out, and the fact ATVI watches them , they can't say anything WHY they dropped such support for PC. Piracy is a fucking excuse. PC games don't sell cause many of them SUCK THESE DAYS ; IT'S NOT WORTH EVEN DLing some.

HAWX was promising , MANY games were , and they just failed to be better than old ones, Consoles win in sales , cause MAINSTREAM is always bigger , and behold the M$ propaganda , all noobs and living room freaks in those shitty xbox rrod consoles , playing the crappies games i ever seen , My firend with whom I play those TOP quality nintendo games , bought XBOX just to see stuff and play games that M4 taken away from ninteno (bastards) , THE GRAPHICS SUCK , even SOUL calibor 2 on GCN looked better than Soul Calibor 4 on that Xbox, banjo kazooie played mostly well , but that's 2 games worth getting anyways.

I just want to clear out , MW2 for a console , is GOLD , I don't care what Crap.NET is running on there, it's a console , so if they made PC like it supposed to be , it would be fine , and PC games cost more to make great , if there would be money restrains , you use the money generated from massive console sales , to COMPENSATE for PC version which then solds more likely less than the consoles , but YOU have a GREAT PC game , and that propels the sels more than it is now with PC sales on a console port. When 1 billion isn't enough for a proper PC game, i sure am losing my mind.

An independent company should be developing by it self FOR it self , using all possible money on the games , while also saving for upgrades , but a public CAPITALIST SCUM company , want's value in money/fucking paper , the GOAL is not great games , and not "saving for upgrade" what the fuck will kotick do with the 1 billion , buy everone a new PC ? I suspect that the Activision legal team was consulted well in advance on this one and that they think they had sufficient grounds to fire these guys unrelated to their bonuses. Big companies with fat wallets don't fire important players without some pre-planning. I suspect that Activision will settle with them for far less than the bonuses they were owed to get it over with.

I don't understand why people think Kotick is a loser. He's a businessman. His job is to make the decisions that keep Activision rolling in the bucks. He's not a guy in his basement writing games for gamers. Business decisions very often conflict with decisions that make better games--that's life.

There is still no proff who is responsible for Modern Warfail 2 , who made this decision to not support dedicated servers , lean , console , steam-integration ... It heavily looks like IW but Im not even close to be sure , I think they were forced to do that or activision would do something IW didn't want (make more spinnofs with other developers)

As long as other companies like DICE make FPS games like Bad Company 2 or better I'm not moving back to another COD or MW or any FPS by Activision. I don't care if its MW 9000 I'd really rather take my money elsewhere.

I would normally agree with you, but doing this kind of shit isn't going to bring in the bucks for very long. They are already starting to crumble.

You can tell yourself that it's all about money, but you have to remember that the money comes from your customers and you do have to appease them as well. There is a balance, and Activision isn't doing a very good job of keeping that balance.

anyway I saw someone on the ps3 forum saying they'd pay IW money to fix some of the game's issues. They'd pay for ****ing updates!

I also saw someone saying they'd buy every Activision CoD release no matter what because it "revolutionized shooters" so they'd blindly buy ever CoD game from them no matter what.

That tells me that Activision probably will still get away with rehashing crap because the average consumer doesn't know shit.

Indeed, I remember the good times of CoD 1 and 2. Then MW came along, personally I really couldn't care less at that point and everyone was wetting their pants, then I played it and thought it was pretty good but I never became obsessed like some other 'people'.
